Flemlo··on At Amazon, some coders say their jobs have begun to resemble warehouse work
I tried it too and I know this test for a while.

Not only did Claude respond correctly, I also wrote it in German.

And I often switch between English and German for single words just because ai is already that good.

This wasn't even imaginable a few years back. We had 0 technology for that.

I created single page html Javascript pages for small prototypes withhin 10 minutes with very little repromting.

I can literally generate an image of whatever I want with just text or voice.

I can have a discussion with my smartphone with voice.

Jules detected my programming language, how to build and running it by me writing 'generaten GitHub action for my project and add a basic test to it's

I don't get how people can't be amazed by these results.

What are you normally do when you try it out?

Flemlo··on At Amazon, some coders say their jobs have begun to resemble warehouse work
The strawberry thing is solved.

Nonetheless it's different things.

Just because they struggle with that makes all the other things wrong? Underwhelming?

I don't think so.

This was not even imaginable at all just a few years ago.

It doesn't matter if it's not working perfect yet. It's only a few years got 3 came out.

Having a reasonable chat with a computer was also not possible at all. AI right now already feels like another person.

You bought gasoline for the first cars in a pharmacy.

A hype is over promising and under delivering.

AI is extremely new, impressive and is already changing things.

How can that be in any way be similar to crypto and VR?

Flemlo··on Ask HN: Selling software to company I work for as an employee
I'm not allowed to do that at all.

I'm also lost on why you think this will make bank.

If it's a basic frontend and no one in your company cares, no one else will.

And you will run into 'conflict of interest ' very fast.

An 'idea' is not worth anything.

If it affects your daily work I would expect you to just do your job which might include making a frontend to make your job easier in company time. After all the company pays you for your expertise. If I would be your boss, I might even be offended by this way of thinking tbh

Flemlo··on Microsoft-backed UK tech unicorn Builder.ai collapses into insolvency
It will be a necessity for our current players to just have it.

Google, apple, Microsoft...

Flemlo··on AI Hallucination Legal Cases Database
So what's the amount of cases were it was wrong but no one checked?
Flemlo··on What I discovered when I asked Amazon to tell me everything Alexa had heard
It's easier to do things/ manipulate big brother when you are part of it.

No one needs to know what else you do.

It's a lot more suspicious to not tell big brother what he wants to hear.

And besides that strategy, dystopian stories sell better. No one would read good feel descriptions.

Flemlo··on Mouth bacteria partially spread depression and anxiety in newlywed couples
That's just so blantly weird stance.

What's your thought process? People in Iran should not kiss each other in marriage?

Flemlo··on What I discovered when I asked Amazon to tell me everything Alexa had heard
That's not necessarily true.

Amazon is also a ecosystem. Alexa shows you notifications from Amazon like the status of a delivery. It's able to call others (great for family).

Amazon has also the fire kid tablet, fire TV etc.

And if I already use Amazon anyway I'm quite happy if Amazon would recommend me good products I like.

For plenty of things, Alexa is a very good UI.

Flemlo··on MCP is the coming of Web 2.0 2.0
We have rest and openapi.

That allows already for self discovery etc.

Everyone who will offer mcp offers a good API anyway.

Flemlo··on I Hated Smart Glasses, but Google's Android XR Let Me See a New Future
I don't need all of that all the time.

And I got lasic because glasses are shit.

But I can imagine working while walking if vibe coding becomes really good. But how that future will look like, let's see. We still are at least 3-7 years away from that.

Flemlo··on John Carmack talk at Upper Bound 2025
And plenty of other people.

It's still a lot better to really learn and discover it yourself to really get it.

Also it's hard to determine how much time someone spent on particular topic.

Flemlo··on Gemini Diffusion
A LLM could easily use its own knowledge to create a list of things to check inside the code base and generate a fact sheet and use best practices and similar knowledge to extend on it.

Just because one query might not be able to do so doesn't mean there are no ways around it

Flemlo··on Gemini Diffusion
But plenty of companies already do this for a decade and more

Having old shitty code base and not retaining the people who built it.

I have done that too despite the creator sitting only 100km away. Code was shit as hell tons of c&p different logic in different endpoints for logging in.

Finally it's worth it to have adrs and similar things.

Flemlo··on Why does the U.S. always run a trade deficit?
Sure but that's not enough to give people enough jobs.
Flemlo··on Why does the U.S. always run a trade deficit?
I don't think domestic manufacturing works anymore.

The pressure to automate will just skyrock.

I'm more for a global currency which will be given to everyone who does certain jobs we can't automate away or don't want to like nursing, teaching.

Everyone around the globe can get worldfiat when they do these jobs.

We need to start thinking beyond known capitalism in a modern highly automated world.
