FilipPanoski··on Show HN: I made a tool that gets you customers from Reddit
Thanks for the feedback - really appreciate it!

Yeah, "up to 3 projects" means you can have up to three $19 subscriptions on a single account. I spent quite a bit of time on figuring out the best wording for this, but looks like it's still not as clear as I hoped.

Also I appreciate your take on my messaging! It's something I'll keep in mind and experiment with.

Would really love to hear from you again once you get to try out the core value!

I built Bazzly. AMA
FilipPanoski··on Show HN: I turned my anti-PH launch tool into a community for SaaS builders
A few months ago, I posted SaaSCurate here as an alternative to Product Hunt and other upvote-driven launch sites.

I built it because my experience with PH sucked: bots, hype, and no real support for early indie projects. I wanted to build something better.

But after some great feedback, I realized that just listing your product isn’t enough to drive meaningful traffic.

People would submit their product once and never return. There was no community, it just turned into another directory.

So I redesigned the platform, removed free tool submissions, and focused on something more valuable:

• Founders sharing lessons and experiences

• Getting discovered by actively contributing to the community

The idea now is simple: show up, engage, and get visibility through actual contribution – not just by listing your product.

Check it out here: https://saascurate.com/

I’d love to hear what you think, and if you’re building something, drop by and post. I want this to be a real community, not another “submit-and-forget” platform.

Thanks! Hope you derive value! Would love to hear any feedback.

I see! Good to know that there are rendering issues with emojis on Unix. Thanks for letting me know!
FilipPanoski··on Show HN: A Product Hunt alternative where products DON'T compete with each other
That's true. I’ve set up social login to help keep bots out, but I know it’s not a perfect solution.

Yes, there are supposed to be star and trophy emojis. I am wondering why they're not showing up for you. Does the icon for Listed Products show?

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this detailed feedback! I actually agree with everything you've outlined here.

My longterm goal with SaaSCurate isn't to rely on the $9 featured slots as the main monetization or draw for users. Instead, I am working to build a community where founders actively support each other through their growth journey.

When someone publishes a product on the platform, other community members receive an email notification so that they can check out the product, leave endorsements and connect. I've also got a Discord server linked in the platform as a space for founders to engage directly.

The $9 featured slots are more of a stepping stone to help fund and shape the broader vision I have for SaaSCurate. I want to help founders grow their products not just by publishing, but with other features that go beyond just product visibility.

Thank you again for your detailed feedback, I truly appreciate it and I am glad to see that we're aligned in the thought process.

Seems like it! I've started building SaaSCurate since June 2024, but since then quite a few platforms like this have emerged. My vision for SaaSCurate is more than to just list a product – I want to build a strong community that helps founders acquire new customers through partnerships and earned media. SaaSCurate is still in MVP phase.

When you list a product, you can choose whether to feature it or list it for free.

Featuring it costs $9 or 500 karma points (which are earned by contributing). There are also other benefits to featuring: - Get spotlighted in a newsletter sent to all community members - Featured embeddable badge - Dofollow backlink for SEO

FilipPanoski··on Show HN: I built a local-first productivity app
Hi, I'm Filip. I've showed this app in HN two months ago and got some great feedback! I've decided to post one last time to show the improvements that I've done and also share with others that haven't seen this app last time. I am eager to get some feedback or answer any questions!
FilipPanoski··on Show HN: I made a simple Markdown blog creator
Seems that the target audience for this are non-technical people? Since I am a developer I am more interested in a CMS tool like https://decapcms.org/ that is open source and I can integrate within my app. Perhaps it'd be useful to you to check it out!
FilipPanoski··on Show HN: I built an app that competes with Notion and Obsidian
I'll be working on exporting your data as markdown next! I agree, it's a great feature for this app.

Also thanks for pointing the calendar discrepancy, I'll look into this!

No worries, I actually appreciate that you've decided to let me know that $5.99 comes of as dishonest to you. I am actually thinking it might be better to instead just put $6 for the reasons you've mentioned. Thanks!
FilipPanoski··on Show HN: I built an app that competes with Notion and Obsidian
Hi. I agree that the pricing on the landing page should provide these details without having to click on it. I'll update this, thanks!

Regarding why not $6 - I've read that .99 converts more, so that's the only reason why I've decided to do it like this.

FilipPanoski··on Show HN: I built an app that competes with Notion and Obsidian
Hi. The data is stored in indexeddb as binary data, but it would be easy to export in a different accessible format like JSON.

The notes support Markdown syntax. Plugins and extensions are not currently supported, which is a plus for Obsidian.

FilipPanoski··on Show HN: I built an app that competes with Notion and Obsidian
Hi, I'm Filip! Here's some context for building this app:

Two years ago, I started searching for an app where I can keep all my tasks and notes in one place while I work and learn new things. Notion felt complicated, slow and not suitable for storing secrets. Obsidian lacked task tracking. So I decided to build my own app.

2 years later, I've been using my app daily and love the benefits it provides over the other note-taking apps.

I wonder what others think. Is it good enough to be able to successfully compete with Notion and Obsidian? I started marketing it a few days ago, so still collecting feedback.

Let me know what you think! Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

FilipPanoski··on Show HN: I Built an AI Holiday Planner for Instant, Expert-Level Itineraries
Hi Fran!

I would pay for a feature like this, but only if it actually provides real value. I've found AI itinerary planners like these one to help slightly in getting suggestions, but I still have to spend lots of hours to research and plan myself.

What would be valuable for me is for the AI to also provide me with: - links to book flight tickets that are cheapest and shortest. - links to book hotel accommodations that actually fit my preference - provide itinerary that also fits my preference, in terms of interest and feasibility (not too far away/the whole itinerary is planned around staying and moving to attractions I want to see)

I tried generating an itinerary, but the generated itinerary just wasn't it.

It would also be good to be able to iterate on the itinerary with the AI because I don't think it's feasible to get a perfect itinerary from a single prompt.

Here's an idea how this might be more easily solved: Have the UI ask you step by step regarding your accommodation preferences, budget, top attractions you're interested in seeing and only then create an itinerary that is tailored to your preferences.

Good luck!

FilipPanoski··on Show HN: I Made a Local-First, Privacy-First Note Taking and Productivity App
Hi, I'm Filip! For those interested, here's a backstory of my journey building this app:

Two years ago, I started searching for an app where I can keep all my tasks and notes in one place, easily accessible from anywhere. Notion was the closest thing I could find, but it felt slow and overly complicated. So, I decided to create my own app.

I focused a lot on UX - simplicity, having your notes load ASAP and be able to use all features offline. So I built it using local-first principles, where all your data is ONLY stored on your device. This also gave me peace of mind knowing anyone can store anything on it (including passwords, secret keys, etc.) without the risk of data leaks. These features provided such a unique value proposition that I couldn't find in other apps.

The app is also completely free to use, without any limitations! I also built the cheapest subscription tier for users who'd want their data to automatically sync between devices, using end-to-end encryption so that their data remains private.

Let me know what you think! Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Very interesting design!

I have too focused on solving the problem for finding color schemes specifically in web design.
