Fidelix··on Pi 1.0
> it's literally a feature that cannot be found with GUIs Yes, it can.

Cursor has this, and there are others that can attach to ssh or open their UI via a tunnel or web interface.

SSH is mighty convenient though, so I am not necessarily saying your point is incorrect.

Fidelix··on RustDesk now supports true unattended remote access on Wayland
Did you even check what hash they are using?

No need to announce
Fidelix··on Show HN: Graft – Claude Code hooks that cut grep tokens by 42%
Why these animations in the github README? why? It just made understanding anything more difficult
Fidelix··on The UK's war on anonymity has come to America
That's fine, then there is no need to lie like you did.
Fidelix··on FFmpeg 9.0
Yes, repost
Fidelix··on Cohere Transcribe: Speech Recognition
Can you clarify? I tested a few and they are rubbish and don't have the same features.
Fidelix··on Show HN: Free alternative to Wispr Flow, Superwhisper, and Monologue
MacOS only. May this help you skip a click.
Fidelix··on Netflix to Acquire Warner Bros
Why would one need to self-host TBs of content with Usenet? That makes no sense.

It's also a lot less prone to failures than debrid services, especially with old content.

Fidelix··on WinBoat: Windows apps on Linux with seamless integration
Freerdp (which this project and every other similar one depends on) is 100% broken on wayland for this use case. I'm not going back to X11.
Fidelix··on Grok Code Fast 1
It would probably beneficial for you to distinguish an is from an ought.

The OP was descriptive, not prescriptive.

Fidelix··on I designed my own fast game streaming video codec – PyroWave
Unbelievable... Good job mate.

Can't wait until one day this gets into Moonlight or something like it.

Fidelix··on Exploring Coroutines in PHP
"It's a hot mess" - someone who knows absolutely nothing about what they're talking about.

Typical HN comment about php.

Fidelix··on Show HN: I built a tool to solve window management
Try Niri or PaperWM. A scrolling window manager.
Fidelix··on Manufactured consensus on x.com
They are upvoting because they hate Elon Musk. It's not that deep.
Fidelix··on Brazil's government-run payments system has become dominant
Yes. Every single transaction is open for the government to inspect. There is zero privacy in pix in relation to government surveillance.
Fidelix··on IronRDP: a Rust implementation of Microsoft's RDP protocol
According to Wikipedia, RDP = June 16, 1998 SSH = 1995. OpenSSH = 1999
Fidelix··on IronRDP: a Rust implementation of Microsoft's RDP protocol
Any links to share? I don't care about security for my use case.
Fidelix··on Dutch Parliament: Time to ditch US tech for homegrown options
yes, that. it was a typo. Thanks
Fidelix··on Dutch Parliament: Time to ditch US tech for homegrown options
Because people that make an effort of announcing these things are all about virtual signaling.

Nothing they do ever has real substance to it.

Fidelix··on Italy moves to reverse anti-nuclear stance
> pushing everyone else to provide for themselves what they had previously got from the US

Did you write this, review it, then post it as if that's a bad thing? wow

edit: grammar

Fidelix··on Karol Herbst Steps Down as Nouveau Maintainer Due to Linux's Toxic Environment
> The moment I made up my mind about this was reading the following words written by a maintainer within the kernel community:

> "we are the thin blue line"

> This isn't okay. This isn't creating an inclusive environment. This isn't okay with the current political situation especially in the US. A maintainer speaking those words can't be kept. No matter how important or critical or relevant they are. They need to be removed until they learn. Learn what those words mean for a lot of marginalized people. Learn about what horrors it evokes in their minds.

I opened the article relatively certain about the nature of the complaint. 100% confirmed.

Seriously? Really? It seems Herbst is the one that wants a non-inclusive environment (ie. exactly conforming to his personal political preferences). Additionally this looks like an excuse as he was already admittedly burned out.

In any case, good luck to Herbst in his future endeavors, hopefully he can develop a thicker skin.

Fidelix··on Stargate Project: SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle, MGX to build data centers
No. It's a disaster. The poor pay for the richest to go to public universities. See Brazil.

There are more low-income people in private universities (with private or private/public loans) than in public universities.

Fidelix··on Stargate Project: SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle, MGX to build data centers
Consider that his position might be more profound than you considered it to be.

Mine is. It's about incentives. Now you can take it from there, and at least in my interpretation the rest of your rebuttal falls apart.

There is absolutely no equivalency to slavery. That is simply dishonest. Slaves didn't choose to be slaves. Do students who take on debt have no agency whatsoever to you? Did the people who paid such debts had no agency when paying?

Fidelix··on Supreme Court upholds TikTok ban, but Trump might offer lifeline
Yeah, and the EFF is in no way biased. at all.
Fidelix··on I got OpenTelemetry to work. But why was it so complicated?
That's a fair point, but scaling it vertically can take you very far in my experience.
Fidelix··on Gemini 2.0: our new AI model for the agentic era
That's different from "killing" the product / technology, which is what Google does.
Fidelix··on So long WordPress
What a silly notion. You're not affiliated to a company merely because you are their customer.
Fidelix··on iOS 18.2 Lets EU Users Delete App Store, Safari, Messages, Camera and Photos
I don't think that word "conservatism" mean what you think
Fidelix··on The Shroud of Turin: History and Legends
Not true at all. No red paint in it.

This has been conclusively, scientifically debunked multiple times.
