FesterCluck··on Google discloses another Windows security issue after deadline exceeded
It should be noted as a point on this specific bug that, since wasn't fixed in the EXTRA time allotted and subsequently disclosed, this is a good thing. Impersonation is something that Windows Administrators can readily disable and manipulate via Group Policies and Active Directory. There's not a one-fix-for-all disable in this case, because impersonation is used in very nuanced ways. That being said, every organization can quickly and with a little effort tighten up their impersonation rights.

With the ease with which information is shared these days, there will be no stop to this. The only solution is to put all traders on a level playing field. Stop computerized millisecond trading, and gains will need to be processed either randomly or with more lead time each day.

FesterCluck··on Ask HN: A gift to C# developers?
He's likely referring to this:

.Net was recently open sourced, along with the compilers. MS also has put real effort into making it cross platfrom with great results.

As a C# & JavaScript developer, I'm floored with this. It's such a huge shift from the past. Yes, it's wonderful.

FesterCluck··on What Is Time?
This article does an amazing job of describing the various versions of the definition of "time" used in physics. The author limits his use of jargon, but defines them well when necessary. Highly recommended.
FesterCluck··on Project Gitenberg
Has any consideration been given to works which may start in this platform? My wife is an aspiring author, and we'd like more information. I'm sure there are many topics to cover, and we're interested in hearing all of them. However, I specifically wonder about the adoption of open source licensing to such works.

Thanks.

FesterCluck··on What next?
So, there are a few options here. I would suggest as your first step to get in touch with a really good contracting firm. I personally have worked with Robert Half Technology many times, and they really try to pair folks with positions they love. Plus, in my experience, they have the best selection of positions to choose from.

Besides this, IRC, Twitter, GitHub, and LinkedIn are your friends. If you can't find a company that peaks your interest, start your own project. Pay the nominal fee to register a DBA (if in the US) and work the project through that company. In this manner you can write off losses in your taxes, and it lends more credibility to the project.

The companies that are looking for shakers want to see you shaking long before you walk in the door. Build the small version of your dream, then sell the idea to anyone who listens.
