FascinatedBox··on Why I moved from Rust to simpler, cleaner C
Yeah, it's a joke. I added an issue (https://github.com/FascinatedBox/lily/issues/294) for extra fun.

As some with Aspergers, much of the middle part is true for me. I feel extreme discomfort in highly social situations. It's tough because being social doesn't come naturally ever, but it's more of constantly pushing myself to go out and then becoming exhausted easily from it.

I'm acutely aware of it, every single day.

FascinatedBox··on Gravity: a new programming language and VM written in C
I have (still am), and I wholeheartedly concur. It's difficult but extremely rewarding.

I'm a self-taught developer. Quite a while ago I wrote a telnet client in C++/Qt to satisfy a personal itch. Over the last few years, I've been designing and building a programming language from the ground up (http://lily-lang.org) while working at Costco. I'm looking for a role where I'll be part of a team and learn something new.

FascinatedBox··on The Crisis of the Multiverse
I'm not sure why, but this site is adding several history entries. It's even worse when I try to navigate down using arrow keys.
FascinatedBox··on A hello world post
In a way, yes. I tell myself somewhat often that I should write more, yet each time I don't. The blog I have sits empty, in large part because I'm not sure how interesting others might find the content.
FascinatedBox··on Elm is Wrong
As someone who's written a language, the need to have a personal approval from a founder before being published to the site stuck out to me more than the typeclasses. I'd argue in favor of it, so long as the review is done in a timely process. I can understand wanting a smaller number of high-quality, reviewed libraries that are tested and shouldn't break.
FascinatedBox··on Ask HN: What cool development languages/tools changed your career?
When I decided to build my own programming language. I had a handful of smaller projects under my belt beforehand. Before that, I had never thought much about what goes into the design of a language, and how important that decisions are (as well as the interactions different parts can have).
