Someday, the US will be just a bubble where no other country gives their data to. We continue this decent into fascism to the point that nobody likes us.. or values us. Is this their idea of Utopia?

Fairburn··on Artemis II crew take “spectacular” image of Earth
Nothing spectacular about it. Except for the obvious degradation of our planet, there isnt anything special about it. Its just our home.
Fairburn··on Iranian missile blitz takes down AWS data centers in Bahrain and Dubai
Once Iran ramps up, its going to be a free-for-all against all US data infrastructure. Iran has friends in low places so they don't have to do all of the dirty work themselves. This should be a wake-up call.

Fairburn··on No AI* Here – A Response to Mozilla's Next Chapter
Lets be real. As someone pointed out, browsers are black boxes, regardless of who made/forked a browser family. Unless you make it yourself, we will forever be a dog chasing its tail. I would love to believe in the best of whichever I choose. And use it according to my comfort level.
Fairburn··on Windows Notepad adds support for formatting, rolling out to Windows Insiders
Just can't leave well-alone, can they. Boil that frog, MS!
Fairburn··on Firefox is becoming an AI browser and the internet is not at all happy about it
Because it wouldn't work. What is the point of having some flagship feature among the fanfare to just leave it off by default? They start the race by never having gotten off of the starting line. I agree the framing is messed up.
Fairburn··on AI will make formal verification go mainstream
AI is great; it makes my job easier by removing repetitive processes, freeing me up to tackle other "stuff". I like that I can have it form up json/xml scaffolding, etc. All the insanely boring stuff that can often get corrupted by human error.

AI isn't the solution to move humanity forward in any meaningful way. It is just another aspect of our ability to offload labor. Which in and of itself is fine. Until of course it gets weaponized and is used to remove the human aspect from more and more everyday things we take for granted.

It is being used to accelerate the divisions among people. Further separating the human from humanness. I love 'AI' tools, they make my life easier, work-wise. But would I miss it if it wasn't there? No. I did just fine before and would do so after it's flame and innovation slowly peters out.
