Same, i always litter my texts with '--' and it's often a symptom of me not being able to structure the text properly. Chat-gpt will often nuke these and structure my text better.

I've also noticed that my ability to write properly structured and grammatically correct sentences have decreased rapidly since i began relying on LLMs for improving my writing.

So i'm actually trying to stop using it -- it's just so tempting to throw in some garbage and get a well structured text out!

I've uninstalled all of the Social Media feeds from my phone. Whenever i get the itch to scroll through something, i've set up a RSS reader app with a bunch of blogs that i follow instead.

It provides relief for the before mentioned itch and i end up engaging with longer form content and often learning something, instead of brain rot.

I agree with almost everything said here.

But I can't disagree enough with the sentiment that you need to find hobbies that can earn you money. In my world, hobbies should keep you sane, grounded and serve as a reminder that there are things worth doing just because. Instead, find a job that you somewhat enjoy that can earn you money and then have some hobbies that you do just for the sake of it.

The moment money gets involved in hobbies, expectations start to creep in, and you will begin judging your own performance. Which is fine if you're doing a job but it's also nice to have things you do without judgement :)
