EtienneJohnred··on Android Income Report
So you can count on each of your Android users generating less than $0.0027 in revenue for you?! (Actually, I guess it’s even less if you factor in the existing customers.)

THAT ANDROID’S A DAMN FINE PLATFORM!!

EtienneJohnred··on Dear 37signals - we apologize
This is the douchiest post I've read in a while. I hope they enjoy their 15 milliseconds of fame they get from it before going back to their inevitable obscurity.
EtienneJohnred··on Horseshit - Joshua Topolsky responds to MG & Gruber
OMG, THIS IS HACKER NEWS!!!111

What I've actually grown to hate about Hacker News over the years is this particular "holier-than-thou" attitude like yours. It just seems like there are so many people on here that are offended by the slightest amount of conflict or controversy that they'd be much better-off living in a plastic bubble than in the real world.

EtienneJohnred··on 6th Grade iPhone Developer speaks at TEDx
Jesus Christ, the kid's in 6th grade. Cut him a fucking break, asshat.
EtienneJohnred··on Four months with Android (An iOS user's exploration)
51 points in just 2 hours, but it’s currently off the first page. The Android-lovin’ douches are really feeling threatened by this one and doing everything they can to try and bury it via downvotes.

But you can’t downvote reality. (Although you can downvote individual comments... you know the routine... goin’ dowwwwnnn!)

EtienneJohnred··on Color.com Pivots to Live Personal Broadcasting
I'm pretty impressed that somebody would actually admit to writing for the digital rag known as Mashable. You are a brave soul, brotha!
EtienneJohnred··on Fuckit, I'm launching
Big-ups to you for knowingly launching a half-baked, half-assed product. Judging by the number of "hackers" you've inspired here, I feel great knowing that the main goal nowadays is to simply set the bar lower. Maybe even stick some ads on it if you're looking for other ways to "improve" it.

They should also change the name. It turns out that failpivot.com is available.
EtienneJohnred··on My Airbnb page generates a $1,129 CPM
This may be the biggest steaming pile of astroturf to ever hit Hacker News.
EtienneJohnred··on Bad News For Android: ITC Rules HTC Violated Two Apple Patents
You gotta love how this is one of the most active posts here right now, but it somehow has been relegated to the third page. Fuck Google fanbois and fuck this bullshit that constantly goes on at Hacker News.
EtienneJohnred··on This is so wrong at so many places. Web App vs Native App (Infographic)
If you try to view the post in a mobile browser, you get:

"Article not found"

Or at least, I am, on my iPhone right now.

There's definitely a touch of irony there.

EtienneJohnred··on First Month on the Android Market
I truly love how the most constructive comment here (by zrgiu) got downvoted into oblivion just because it was critical.

While Hacker News was once a relevant, useful place to find good tech news, it's quickly degenerating into a steaming pile of shit driven by a bunch of thin-skinned Android sycophants. It's unfortunate (not to mention how unfortunate it is that such a useless post as this is even on the front page here to begin with).

EtienneJohnred··on First Month on the Android Market
I really hope he does a follow-up post that breaks down how he spent his $3.88. After about 3 months of revenue, he'll even be able to afford to buy spendingmoneywithandroid.com.

Downvote away!!

EtienneJohnred··on VorePad - Convore for iPad
I totally thought this was going to be about something else. :|

EtienneJohnred··on App store shenanigans
Apple knows about these apps and exploits (and various other exploits), yet they do little to get rid of them. Apps like these should be prohibited by the guidelines. Nobody needs hundreds of apps that serve absolutely no purpose at all besides attempt to scam people out of 99¢.

Apple doesn't do much about them because the issues aren't in the public eye and from the media's perspective, they're not very newsworthy so I doubt much will change along these lines. It's not like these are new issues by any stretch of the imagination.

So yeah, while this does hurt us devs to some extent, it has little negative effect on Apple, IMO.

EtienneJohnred··on How I got to #12 (and still climbing) in the iTunes App Store
Nice job. I saw the app zooming up the charts last night and was trying to figure out what was causing it to rise so fast.
EtienneJohnred··on Ask HN: Has HN been slow/spotty loading for you?
If I just answer "yes" without a long dissertation, will I get downvoted by the elite here? My guess is yes.
