As one that grew up knowing one of Sweden's most prominent journalists I can vouch for some extremely impressive skills that are needed in order to be a good journalist. It's very much about the amount of schooling and _continuous_ preparation you put into a column: a blogger may become successful merely venting his/her thoughts while a "true" journalist reads a book per hundred written words.
1) Israel is pushing Twitter to censor these terms
2) Someone at Twitter HQ blindly supports Israel
Either way it completely destroys perhaps the most important usage for Twitter: a voice for those in the epicenter of something happening.
First off, I agree on the importance of culture. But equating a CS degree with coding is just plain wrong; Dijkstra has a nice quote on this. CS is and should be applied mathematics, and what more timeless topic is there than math?
Secondly, there are some serious doubts whether university teaches you to think independently. As a counter argument, read "The Disadvantage of an Elite Education"[1]. Summary of this article: university teaches you--if you're somewhat ambitious--to become an excellent sheep. In other words, it promotes you into being the same mediocre person as anyone else.
That said, I still believe there's a ton of things to be gained from spending four years in a university: network, culture, more-than-average-but-still-pretty-mediocre ability to think, fun, and being inside a solid recruitment base for cool companies.

For reference, this is where I checked the versions: http://installed-gems.heroku.com/ But I guess all you RoR-gurus know that :)
EDIT: Also, http://blog.heroku.com/archives/2010/5/25/rails_2_3_6_depend...
One thing though. Although it's great that you keep versions updated, perhaps you should mention that Heroku only supports rails version up to 2.3.5? As a total beginner, it took me a few hours to realize why I got strange errors when deploying...
Also, make your profile one concise paragraph. I like the non-bullshit words in it right now, but trim it.

Do I copy the code points, or the encoded characters--the bytes--along with what encoding is used? Similarly, when I paste, is it the code points I paste which are instantaneously encoded using the application's encoding scheme?
The review was wonderfully British -- "What is it about Americans that they think 10 years is a long time?" -- which probably is the main reason behind the criticism. Real business people according to the author are probably those with a degree from LSE.
Completely mouse-free and uncluttered. Also, it doesn't make the mistake to organize the notes, since this is usually impossible and a waste.
EDIT: web-page seems down, check Github instead: http://wiki.github.com/scrod/nv/.

Can anyone think of such books?
