Yes, for the love of god and all that is holy, just let me use TOTP for MFA. I absolutely HATE that some banks use SMS as a method of MFA. Sometimes it's a mix of 8 character numeric password with SMS as MFA.
I sincerely don't understand how devs that use macOS put up with this crap. I remember getting a Macbook M1 from the company I used to work for and the battery life was amazing, but as soon as I needed to install Xcode I just gave up. It's unbelievably bad, fuck that.
Exactly. I mean, I understand that 45+ minutes to deploy something that takes less than a minute to build is obnoxious, but the pipeline is not always there to only build the app. Deploying in 10 seconds means no safeguards and that you can send broken code to production. And pipelines are about automation too. Having a sane pipeline that will check formatting, linting, test, build and deploy quickly to a server is not that hard.
Well, if you don't care for production being down for a couple of minutes, fine, do the "10 second deployment". But, at least for me, even in really small projects, it doesn't make any sense.
Thanks for the detailed response :)
Sounds like I'm gonna be experimenting with Nim in the next few days. Creating CLI executables with Python is always a pain, you cannot propely create a self-contained executable without going through hoops.
How's Nim in production? I really enjoyed working with the language and I've been bitten too many times by Python's package management. Do you think it's suitable for scripting too?
Podman Desktop is getting really good. But the only thing preventing me from using Podman right now is the fact that Docker has BuildKit, and BuildKit has some really nice features like Secret Mounts, Cache Mounts and SSH Mounts.
iPhone? Who tf cares for iPhone gaming? Are you gonna play CS2 on an iPhone?
And it's the same Apple that was barely mantaining OpenGL (an outdated version) and REFUSED to support Vulkan for their Metal Graphics API. If I remember correctly Valve helped or asked the creator of MoltenVK to open-source the project, so they could work on it as well.
Yes, Apple didn't care about PC gaming AT ALL.
Now they release a modified version of Wine and hope that everyone starts using it.
