Double_a_92··on iPhone 16 is much easier to repair
Or, crazy idea: Just use adhevise that isn't unnecessarily strong.
Double_a_92··on Satellite Imagery of Every Outdoor Basketball Court in the USA
Ok then it's mostly nonsense... Maybe some practice project?
Double_a_92··on Hiero: Open-Source Distributed Ledger Technology
Imagine putting effort into creating yet another crypto bullshit platform...
Double_a_92··on Why Scrum is stressing you out
Stories = Requirements Engineering

Assigning Points = Roughly estimating how long it takes you to implement it

Allocating Work = Well... allocating work

Standups = Talking with your colleagues about the current work and clearing problems

Reviews = Showing your results

None of that seems unreasonable. The only thing that kinda sucks are the rigid sprints, because they just cause artificial stress by setting unnecessary deadlines.

Double_a_92··on Learn Git Branching
Usually browsers automatically configure themselves according to the operating system language (I guess).
Double_a_92··on Satellite Imagery of Every Outdoor Basketball Court in the USA
I guess as an example of using AI image processing on satellite imagery. E.g. instead of basketball courts you could let it automatically find military targets...
Double_a_92··on Consent-O-Matic – automatically fills ubiquitous pop-ups with your preferences
The problem is that it needs to be manually adapted to each side that doesn't have a well known cookie banner... So if you mostly visit "exotic" pages it doesn't work.
Double_a_92··on Consent-O-Matic – automatically fills ubiquitous pop-ups with your preferences
Not really. You might need to login everytime, or on shops you will lose your cart.
Double_a_92··on Consent-O-Matic – automatically fills ubiquitous pop-ups with your preferences
The actual problem is not the popups, it's that websites have so much spyware crap on them that you need all those warnings.
Double_a_92··on An NFC movie library for my kids
It's probably easier to embed an NFC tag in something child-friendly, compared to printing QR codes on something that small kids won't destroy.

Also in this case (since it just laminated cards anyway) the usability is much easier. The kid just has to touch something. While with a QR it has to be positioned in a way that a camera can see and focus to it.

Double_a_92··on Italy's Sun Motorway (2021)
I almost thought Italy wasted money on solar freaking roadways...
Double_a_92··on How to mail an SD card with gummy glue
The whole project itself seems like "complicators gloves" to be honest... Just buy something like a RasPi and be done with it (and it if even comes with WiFi and Bluetooth which you can disable).
Double_a_92··on How to mail an SD card with gummy glue
It's a physical thing! /s
Double_a_92··on Students at fake university in Michigan created by ICE can sue US, court rules
How can an university be fake? Like didn't those people actually go there and study?
Double_a_92··on A Boy Who Was King of Vanilla
Yeah it's a very poorly written article. Almost feels like a shallow "look a black inventor!", instead of genuinely caring and appreciating the invention.
Double_a_92··on Chat Control Must Be Stopped – Now
By voting for the members of parliament, and the parliament then deciding everything else... Ideally things should work out as the people want it. Otherwise it would mean that democracy just doesn't work...
Double_a_92··on Chat Control Must Be Stopped – Now
You can't stop this kind of shit. Even if we do it will be back in a couple of months with another name.
Double_a_92··on Google releases smart watch for kids
Only if you both are mature enough though. If you are constantly looking at the location of your spouse to see of they are cheating or something, and then question every unexpected movement they do, you won't benefit from it.
Double_a_92··on Google releases smart watch for kids
Because that's an extra annoyance on both sides.
Double_a_92··on Google releases smart watch for kids
I guess it only works if your parents are mature enough to not actually judge everything you do.
Double_a_92··on An even faster Microsoft Edge
There wasn't even something wrong with Edge when it started. It was basically Chrome, but preinstalled. But now they had to fill it with bloat and spyware...
Double_a_92··on Forget billions of years: Researchers have grown diamonds in just 150 minutes
But will it really be the same if you didn't have some little kid dig them out of mines? /s
Double_a_92··on Passkeys: A shattered dream
The idea of a passkey is that it's bound to a device, and you can have more than one passkey. Think of a YubiKey, just that you can use your Phone or your PC instead. You basically have designated hardware that is always allowed to just login to your account...
Double_a_92··on Passkeys: A shattered dream
Yes, this is crucial. So far all the services that I use do though.
Double_a_92··on Passkeys: A shattered dream
As I understood it, that's exactly the purpose and not an issue. You are supposed to create a new passkey on each device you have. The fact that they can roam around within e.g. the Apple ecosystem is just some added function that Apple offers.
Double_a_92··on It's the End of the Web as We Know It
My suspicion is that there aren't actually that many "good" websites. A manual approach would maybe not be completely unfeasible.
Double_a_92··on Amazon is filled with garbage e-books, this is how they get made
The cover already screams AI crap...
Double_a_92··on Debian Git Monorepo
It's much nicer to have everything you could ever need in one place, instead of having to know what is in what repo. Especially when you have versions that need to correspond in the different repos...
Double_a_92··on Bypassing Denuvo in Hogwarts Legacy
Yeah kinda pointless read. It's basically "I did a thing... somehow".
Double_a_92··on BeagleY-AI: a 4 TOPS-capable $70 board from Beagleboard
I can't wait for it to be sold out, or only being sold at shops that wan't like 40$ for international shipping...
