DotSauce··on Why does 500 Startups' www point here?
It's a name that was reserved by the .CO registry. I don't know if they are hosting the website as well, but I have contacted CoInternet to suggest they address the issue.
DotSauce··on Bookmarking is more complex than you think
Pocket covers nearly all of the requests you posted from HN; cross-device compatible, Pinterest style layout, export to html, search, tagging & sharing. I'm really enjoying it as a private bookmarking service.

DotSauce··on Ask HN: How can I make an extra 30-50k a year?
I would suggest domain name and website flipping, particularly to someone with your skill-set.

http://www.quicksprout.com/2013/03/18/the-neil-patel-guide-t... http://www.dotsauce.com/2010/10/21/how-to-sell-domain-names/

Also, if you invest in generic term domains for the 2013-2014 GTLD landrush for quality extensions like .blog, .cars, etc. you stand to make a quick profit during the GTLD launches. Please do your research first, of course, I wouldn't want you to lose money.

DotSauce··on DomainHole launches two new tools to help you find great domains
Great additions. Can you provide some kind of confirmation or statement that you are not logging the data entered into bulk availability checks? This would put a lot of user's mind at ease, particularly those in the industry who may be using your tools regularly.

Looking forward to seeing DomainHole develop further. Excellent UI, UX and concepts.

DotSauce··on B&N opens up the Nook with Developer program
Yes, the Nook Color is essentially an android tablet. Along with eBooks, book store, and web browsing, it has an "Extras" area which currently features a limited selection of apps (Pandora, photo gallery, crossword, chess, sudoku, mp3 player). Barnes and Noble will be launching a moderated version of the Android App store (along with Flash capabilities) in an update sometime this month.
DotSauce··on Show HN: DotSauce Domain Club
I am an experienced domainer and am able to acquire new quality domains on a regular basis. I'm also very busy with manging the publication, DotSauce magazine and other projects.

I wish I could sell domains full time, but I have other commitments. It takes time to market and promote domains and sales don't exactly happen over night.

There are sample domains shown on the signup page. I think it's fairly obvious good keywords and brands are worth more than $19. It's not so far fetched to think someone could resell for much more.

DotSauce··on Show HN: DotSauce Domain Club
Because the available domains are for members eyes only. If I was to show them publicly anyone could register them.
DotSauce··on Show HN: DotSauce Domain Club
The available domains will be located within the members forum at http://dc.dotsauce.com/ - Of course, the available domains themselves are not something I can show publicly.

DotSauce··on What do you use for product delivery (software)?
If you have a bit to invest, aMember is really a fantastic solution and will allow you to expand your business in many ways. The software is the best on the market as far as I'm aware and goes for $180.

I'm finishing up deep integration of aMember, vBulletin and WordPress now and it is going very well. I'm very excited about launching.

aMember is built to manage recurring subscriptions first, but you can set products to "lifetime" and users will only have to make a single payment if needed.

DotSauce··on Inlu.st - new dating startup
I love the concept, but I would consider re-branding before you launch. This domain name and the keyword 'lust' has a negative connotation as related to relationships. At first glance, the site will be perceived as another "hook up" social network. After reading your site, I don't believe that is your primary aim. Also, a domain hack isn't user-friendly.

Consider a creative two-word .Com domain. If you need assistance or available domain suggestions, please feel free to get in touch.

DotSauce··on Need a name for your startup? I wrote a domain name generator in Node.JS
Where are the results? Please post successful name finds if there are any. I'm calling foul. I've written a few months ago that domain name generators are dead.

I will admit your app functions well and has good intentions. But, the vast majority of good word combinations have been claimed already.

DotSauce··on Twitter Users Most Followed by Readers of Hacker News: Updated & Expanded
I remember when @PaulG joined Twitter he quickly gained several thousand followers in a few hours via a link from Hacker News. This data is based on only 400-500 users. I would say the majority of the Hacker News community is left out.
DotSauce··on A robotic curtain that automatically blocks the view of passersby
Needs bug fixes. Noticed several people walked away quickly when they saw the device was not very accurate.

Put this on a cylinder and slap an advertisement on it that follows the nearest person within 360 degrees.

DotSauce··on Ask HN: Please help a virgin blogger.
I totally mis-read the second paragraph of his question. So yea... If you're NOT looking to gain business and drive traffic, then by all means don't listen to my advice. Sorry!
DotSauce··on Ask HN: Please help a virgin blogger.
Quick a dirty suggestions from an experienced blogger:

- Migrate to WordPress.org and/or get a nice looking theme + logo design

- Add a photo to compliment each post

- Add sub-headers and bold important thoughts

- Start a Twitter profile to promote posts and additionally submit posts to Stumble, Mixx, Sphinn, HN, Digg, Facebook, etc.

- Prominently feature email newsletter and RSS subscription options

- Add a short biography of yourself below each post + create an About page and Contact page

- Implement links to related posts to increase stickiness (Wibiya.com blog toolbar can help here as well)

- Utilize your blog footer to feature additional content

DotSauce··on The Asian domain-name extortion scam
Has nobody followed up to see which registrars are to blame? Could be a simple fix if reported to ICANN.
DotSauce··on The Asian domain-name extortion scam
We are moving towards the opposite. You will begin to see a lot more domain extensions as ICANN allows anyone with deep enough pockets to launch their own top-level domain.

DotSauce··on The secret to 4 letter domains: include one (and only one) digit
Give me an example of a 4 character domain with a digit in it and I will suggest a much better alternative. If you want to have a respectable web presence, use keywords or find a quality brand on the aftermarket.

If you must, the real secret to 4 letter domains is backordering as they expire or making an offer to existing owners.

DotSauce··on When Google Hates Your Name: Why We Renamed Our Startup
Why do these articles never mention the aftermarket? It's like businesses refuse to acknowledge that good domains are available to purchase. Sedo? Afternic? BuyDomains? Auctions? Personal portfolios? Wake up! This is where the real gems are.

Domain finder tools are dead. They don't work.

DotSauce··on [dead]
Why is this news? Can you please focus on business and programming instead of indirectly putting down other's Religions? Thanks.
DotSauce··on French president is butt of new joke on Google
I doubt "hundreds of webmasters" did this as Google claims. Could be done by a few dozen motivated bloggers or 1 hacker with access to many sites.
