This is insane to me.
My evidence for my view is basically pointing at all countries with strong rule of law and institutions having less corrupt systems. In so many countries bribery is just considered "the way things are done". Add robust systems for punishments to those with the most authority instead of blaming some abstract entity and watch as all of a sudden the whole system creaks towards accountability. Hasn't this happened reliably in basically every country that enacted and reliably enforced democratic laws?
Please promise to come back to this comment in 2030 and playfully mock me for ever being worried and I will buy you a coffee. If AGI is invented before 2030 please buy me one and let me mock you playfully.
Most users are not able to root their device due to the number of steps needed and will give up on an app that needs root access. Make it so that you have to do something other than just clicking a warning message to enable using your Pebble then.
Warning messages can be made idiot proof with some thought.
If they further block it by default but allow Pebble users to bypass the block with some very scary warning message then My God there wouldn't be a scandal at all. People who know and accept the risks can use the thing they paid money for as they please then.
Everyone from the foodbank to other homeless people would justifiably be furious at this scam artist when they learn more. That's the morally repugnant situation we find ourselves in with Honey.
Copyleft infringement is perhaps better thought of as stealing from a foodbank than government corruption.
So everything you say seems to fit to me.
You don't have to excessively see hours upon hours of such footage.
But a single harsh and gruesome traffic death footage sure as hell made me more careful in traffic. No amount of crumpled car metal was going to properly internalize in me how sudden and unexpected death can be and how fragile life really is.
The industrial revolution is not an apt analogy. Humans were still too essential to getting factories to actually work. Horses becoming useless - by no fault of their own - is an apt analogy. We are rushing to a world where humans can be fully replaced.
This "humans will always be in the loop no matter what" is just Cope. We simply don't know what will happen or the what the upper bound of AI capabilities will be. But 100% automation and humans as knowledge workers being as useless vs AI as horses vs cars is no longer sci-fi. We don't know if it will, but this is a future that actually could happen within our lifetimes.
Either way, you have a good mom lol
I cannot begin to tell you how much more respect and care I give to the road and cars after witnessing so many videos of how violently and suddenly car accidents can take a life. Many of the horrors of these videos are burnt into my mind and I am confident this is for the better.
We live in the real world. It is important to see the real world as it is.
There are if course mental health limits to this. I never want to be desensitized. But in moderation I think it can be net-positive.
