Dimitris··on Organized Resources for Deep Learning Researchers and Developers
I would highly recommend going through François chollet's Deep Learning with Python[1] book. The technical concepts are explained very well and since you have gone through the Modern AI book you won't have an issue understanding them. It's a very hands-on book and by the time you finish it you will be able to use Deep Neural Nets to solve many problems.

I would also recommend going through the scikit-learn documentation. Some of the tutorials/examples there are pretty good.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to your personal learning style. For me the thing that worked was to go through the above mentioned steps and then find a problem I was interested in and try to solve it using my newly found skills. That way you will discover new tools and methods.

Finally, the Deep Learning [2] book is also very good but I would not recommend it to a beginner. It's better to use it when you have a basic understanding of Machine Learning and you want to gain a deeper understanding of the concepts.

Dimitris··on Greek Banks, Stock Exchange to Remain Closed From Monday
I suggest that you follow this Twitter account: http://twitter.com/GreekAnalyst

Summarizing in a post the Greek problem is almost impossible, but I would say that the referendum is a terrible idea, especially at this moment.

You are right, there is nothing wrong with that. However, imho this app objectified girls and I highly doubt that anyone would use it. If you want to see boobs, you can go to a porn site, no need to have a separate app on your phone.

Again, I get the point that you are trying to make. I just don't think it's appropriate to present such an app or behave like that in front of a few thousand people.

Dimitris··on [dead]
I think I will have to disagree with you in some parts.

The fact that the majority of the coders are guys doesn't mean that it's ok to create an app which shows boobs and then present it to a few thousand people. Although, I am sure those guys did it for a laugh, they did not understand the repercussions of their actions. With your logic it would be acceptable to put porn movies on a screen, just because guys like porn.

What would you say if the app displayed "male parts"?

I am European and I am pretty sure that if that happened here the response would be more fierce. A porn app is not liberalizing sex, it's just making things worst.

Finally, a business which succumbs to the desires of its clients, when those desires are exorbitant, is simply not a business to trust.

Dimitris··on Ask HN:Can you master AngularJS without prior Javascript experience?
If you have basic understanding of JS, I think you will be fine. The learning curve for AngularJS is steep so you are going to spend a lot of time going over new material.

As soon as you are able to write a basic program in JS then jump right to AngularJS.

Tkae a look at this book as well. http://shop.oreilly.com/product/9780596805531.do It's really helpful.

Dimitris··on Ask HN: Solve a problem or build something cool?
First of all you have to be an expert programmer, able to bring in reality your own ideas. Then you will have to do a lot of marketing research and then look at some big companies(like Google, FB,etc.) and try to understand why the became big. Then look at some unsuccessful companies and try to understand why they failed. Hope that helps!
Dimitris··on Ask HN: Solve a problem or build something cool?
Study and maybe you will get lucky. There are no shortcuts to success.
