Do your project ideas (big and small) just come to you or do you have a process?
And any thoughts on doing a small post on a day/week in the life of Pud? Like how much time you spend on projects (planning, coding, designing), and whatever else you do like jamming. You clearly know at least a little about time management and/or avoiding procrastination.
But with the unsubscribe confirmation, you'll know right away and can resubscribe if needed.
For anybody who'd like to get a feel for how well the existing players in this market are executing, take a look at Zaad's site: http://www.zaad.net/
I have one app that always ends up off screen when I disconnect my external monitor and I could never find a definite way to get it back.
On the front page right now is '"Space Monkey" Dropbox Competitor Wins Launch, Has Already Raised $750K', and just below it, is this title ('A fresh new Dropbox on the web'). I was expecting this to be a post praising their new competitor.
Anyway, a redesign was badly needed for the web interface. The last time I used Dropbox on the web I remember questioning how this could be a multi-billion dollar company.
You do not need to do this. On the embedded Google Map you can just click the Google logo in the bottom left corner and be taken directly to a new maps.google page with the viewpoint centered exactly where the embedded map was. I even verified that it works on the map he was using.
TL;DR: Click the Google logo on an embedded map to view larger.
Then you get to the punchline, "You have too many monthly costs. Now add me to that list so I can help you remove the others!".
Ironically, the least expensive plan on his monitoring service is almost double the most expensive plan on the list of his own SaaS subscriptions.
Proud to see more Irish founders succeeding in the US, and as I know they'll be reading here: good job guys, keep it up.
This is just my personal opinion, but I (and most of my friends) absolutely hate having to listen to FM radio for those exact reasons. All of my in-car music is played from my smartphone. I don't even remember when I last heard the radio.
For new artists, there's nothing that can beat online music services giving personalized recommendations based on your own preferences (or even based on what's popular). A generic radio presenter can't even come close.
As for the news, what's happening, closed roads, etc. I can get all that info online and skim across it in seconds, rather than having fragments of information trickle down from a radio presenter between songs and commercials.
I understand it's your area of work, but there is no way FM radio will ever survive in it's current format as we move forward.
For those who are interested, Eircom is also the Irish ISP which continues to enforce a complete ban on any of its customers accessing The Pirate Bay due to an out-of-court settlement with the Irish music industry[1] - despite there being no law requiring them to do so.
Subsequently, Eircom then launched their own (as expected, below par) music streaming service the following year.[2]
