DavidMiserak··on Show HN: GoCard – A file-based spaced repetition system built in Go
Thanks! That is on my roadmap. I need to extract the notes form the database(sqlite)[0] from the zip file and process it along with the many media files it can contain. Right now this is a TUI and will have limited media capabilities.

DavidMiserak··on Ask HN: How did you find yourself on HN?
I read about it in a book called Chaos Monkeys.
DavidMiserak··on Ask HN: How do you synthesize books that you read?
I have success retaining information by explaining it to another human being. This can lead to me rereading sections and keeps me engaged with the content.

This is consistent with what I have read from "Your Memory : How It Works and How to Improve It" by K. Higbee.

DavidMiserak··on Which books or courses to recommend to beginners for learning coding in 2023?
I would encourage you to take a look at the ACM CS Curricula for exemplar programs and courses. From there you can check out materials and lectures from Stanford University's Engineering Everywhere program[0].

DavidMiserak··on Ask HN: Which online courses and books can provide real value to a programmer?
A great place to start is the ACM CS Curricula. It has a list of exemplar courses and well defined criteria.
DavidMiserak··on Ask HN: Anyone here have good material for learning how to sketch from scratch?
Myron Barnstone has a great series on the topic. Some of his stuff is on YouTube.

DavidMiserak··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (October 2021)
I've applied to this company twice before. Both times they've cancelled before the sit-down interview / personality quiz.
DavidMiserak··on Ask HN: Graduating CS soon, how do I find a job?
I would recommend against this.

I was a NOC Engineer at an ISP and later a MSP while getting my degree. My peers we're those with unskilled jobs previously who took a few college courses.

My resume was routinely sent over to the IT help desk manager whenever I applied for a software role.

I got past it by volunteering as a Bioinformatics SE at the local university.
