DanAtC··on The Russian people have essentially lost access to the internet
How does one keep up-to-date on all the different protocols? How can you trust one over another?
DanAtC··on The Russian people have essentially lost access to the internet
The translations are... not great. A lot of flowery language that doesn't explain much.
DanAtC··on The Russian people have essentially lost access to the internet
As a personal complaint, in the west it's hard to understand what any of those words mean or where to find an authoritative source. I can't read sites like https://xtls.github.io/
DanAtC··on AOSP project is coming to an end
Reading between the lines tells me they're discontinuing Pixel AOSP support which is a pretty big blow with zero warning to those who used them as de facto reference models.

DanAtC··on DNS piracy blocking orders: Google, Cloudflare, and OpenDNS respond differently
Kind of. You can get the nameservers (and glue records if available) for every domain under a TLD if the TLD makes their zone file available. See https://github.com/jschauma/tld-zoneinfo

DanAtC··on Unique Games Conjecture
Wikipedia authors out there love the smell of their own farts.
DanAtC··on Ask HN: Is archive.today/is/md/etc. compromised?
And instead of just rejecting queries they return weird unrelated IPs out of spite.
DanAtC··on Ask HN: Is archive.today/is/md/etc. compromised?
archive.today's DNS is unreliable garbage.

They take issue with Cloudflare not sending EDNS Client Subnet and lately I've noticed they've taken issue with NextDNS' anonymized EDNS.

Gives shady data-collection vibes.
