What about former smokers?

I imagine that, depending on the mechanism of action, and whether the "increased immunity" remains, there could something reproducible to reduce transmission.

Very clever.

Also seems like something pulled from ancient aliens.

DailyHN··on Discovering the brain’s nightly “rinse cycle”
I haven't noticed this on keto, though I wonder if that has something to with my nighttime eating habit.

I do notice that I need substantially less sleep when fasting. Sometimes I only sleep 4 hours a night when fasting.

DailyHN··on Before Clearview Became a Police Tool, It Was a Secret Plaything of the Rich
Seems like they're building the hype train so that consumers want to pay for a version they can use to "take control" of their digital identity.
DailyHN··on The neuroinvasive potential of SARS-CoV2
> Considering the potential neuroinvasion of SARS-CoV-2, antiviral therapy should be carried out as early as possible to block its entry into the CNS. Airway inhalation of antiviral agents will be the first choice at the early stage of infection, which will inhibit the replication SARS-CoV-2 in the respiratory tracts and lung and prevent from its subsequent neuroinvasion. It is also urgent to find effective antiviral drugs that can cross the blood-brain barrier. Moreover, corticosteroids, which are used frequently for severe patients, may have no treatment effect, but rather accelerate the replication of the virus within the neurons.

It seems that way.
DailyHN··on Show HN: Kasaya – A scripting language and runtime for browser automation
> Would be great if this "transpiled" into a more robust and popularly supported formalism so that the functionality could be refined over time.

Great idea. Would love to see something like that. For now I'll have to continue to roll my own generators/templates.

There is also text alongside the images at the source. It would be exciting if the GAN could write an excerpt alongside its creation.

Side note: is there something that already exists to modernize old English?

DailyHN··on Show HN: BigOofN – job board from the perspective of software engineers
> job board market has exploded to the point of absurdity

As the creator of some of those job boards, I agree.

Job boards are easy to build.

Established job boards can bring significant visibility from the right audience.

"Fly-by-night" job boards that look identical down to the pricing are stealing money from unsuspecting customers. I've had people buy a similar domain, create google ads to appear in the search to employers, and sell the same-priced job post when they have no existing audience.

I've been running job boards for 8+ years. Monetization is the biggest problem.

How do you plan to monetize?

DailyHN··on AI Generated News Articles
> we're not rewriting what's been written; we're generating content itself.

I'm not sure I see the distinction.

Where are you getting the facts from? Unless you're creating completely fake content, then it's seems like it's going to be a re-write of some sort.

DailyHN··on AI Generated News Articles
Writing vs Curating.

Do we need to rewrite what's already written? How does this prevent bad actors? Over saturation with "good" content?

What if wr curated the most valuable human-written content with AI? So that humans can build trust with the [AI] entity. I think this type of curation is how we prevent bad actors.

Writing by AI should be used similarly to improving the quality of images video by filling-in-the-gaps. We already have too much "not duplicate" content if you ask me.
