Funnily I feel the exact opposite. I see Debian as Stable while most other development these days are like webdesign: Learn a tool or framework and start using it - but wait! There's a better one out now and hey look at this shiny new tool. I like stable.

What you are saying is really:

DDG search costs the same as google search.

Does Google search results work for you? If yes, then I'd say the reason is you don't see or agree with how bad results are today (as others have posted extensively about). I for one find DDG as the search engine that returns the worst results. Qwant is a better Bing-using engine IMO but it is still bad.

Even an external firewall can't easily block everything. Just send telemetry over port 443 to an AWS server and most can't block it. You can't trust a device that need an outgoing firewall.

They should just go for markets that aren't made up of lawyers that want to sue everyone and medical companies that want to rip everyone off. So somewhere outside the US. The EU would likely be a more welcoming market for open source.

It is an open secret that Apple is doing all these privacy things for two reasons: PR and for setting themselves up as the only choice for ads for iOS users (which will soon include Mac). How anyone can just look past this (and that they jumped into NSAs arms and shared everything) baffels the mind. Apple is in no way less evil than Facebook or Google.

I just did a search on our business and the results were not the same, just like DDG and Bing isn't the same. From best to worst result on the same search string:

Google > Startpage > Qwant > Bing > DDG

But even if they were 100% identical, it has some privacy unlike 3 out of the other 4.

If GP meant real word usage I can only agree. I really cannot see how iPhones feel faster. In my hands they clearly do not.
