DOGMATICA··on A curmudgeon tries a language server
Right, but... are you reading code in a way in which you need to preserve the “natural flow”? Personally I read a program (made up of discrete chunks of syntax that do things) much differently than a novel, or any piece of natural language in which you’d care about the typography.
DOGMATICA··on Nitter and XCancel receive cease and desist notices
“As simple as hosting their own website” is contradictory for a majority of the people using the internet.
DOGMATICA··on Mysteries of Telegram Data Centers (2022)
i'm far from an authority on content delivery or whatever, but the first thing I thought of was what a bizarre way to setup your infrastructure!
DOGMATICA··on I Did Not Kill Stanley Lieber: How to Draw (With 9front)
the joke is that plan 9’s not UNIX, and thus does not run Jurassic Park. the absurdity arises from the fact that using such a capable operating system for dinosaur husbandry (im told this is what jurassic park is about) would be, frankly, philistine in nature.
DOGMATICA··on A bug which affected only left handed users
god, I have a 12 mini and I don't know what I'm going to do when it dies. my attempts at finding a vaguely modern name-brand android phone that's a similar size have concluded in zero phones and a sense of overwhelming dread
DOGMATICA··on Splash Is a Colour Format
that's so real tbh
DOGMATICA··on NextTrace: An open source visual route tracking CLI tool
Curious how the "NextTrace has been used for [number] times" banner works. Does it fire off a request to their site everytime it's used? (and if so, is it an over reaction to personally find that a little strange for a small-ish cli tool?)
DOGMATICA··on Apple fixes zero-day bug in Apple Vision Pro that 'may have been exploited'
SteamVR’s tracking page[1] explains it a little. The HMD is really just displays, radios to talk the controllers (standalone trackers will just have a dongle, runs the same firmware iirc), and its own chip to talk to its own tracking sensors. All the tracking stuff amounts to timing information which is screamed over USB to the PC which does all the math to figure out where you are.

A bulk of this (really interesting!) information can be found on their HDK documentation, but that requires you to sign up with Steamworks.
