Cypher··on From ownership economy towards economy of usage
Sounds like owning nothing and being happy.

Once you remove ownership people have lose interest in looking after the object. It rapidly degrades and then the cost to clean it up becomes too expensive for the rent seeker.

Cypher··on For many home-schoolers, parents are no longer doing the teaching
Home schooling isn't a 9 till 3:30PM everyday. It doesn't have to mimic the systematic school routine. It's far more flexible and beneficial for students that are being held back by school or falling behind.
Cypher··on Can’t decide which books to ban? Leave it to ChatGPT
I wouldn't trust the woke ai to make any decisions on what I can and can't read.

Cypher··on Ask HN: How do you recreate yourself when you are adult?

Cypher··on Dirty downside of 'return to office'; ending WFH could make climate crisis worse
I'm not convinced, although I like working from home. I think human impact on the environment isn't as big deal. The doomers have been calling for the end of the climate for decades and been wrong everytime but they don't change their outlook they just move the clock forward another 5-10 years.

Cypher··on Ask HN: Why are so many companies forcing employees back into the office?
They don't trust us, although I'm far more productive at home than travelling into the office.
Cypher··on Analysis of the data job market using HN job posts
2023 isn't over yet so still time to have a mad rush at the end of the year :]
Cypher··on Ask HN: How do you look for jobs in 2023?
I've done a lot, got a load of interviews and it's all just dried up. It's pretty depressing too. I'm fortunate I can retire in a couple of years but I'd love a change to sink my teeth into before I finally put my feet up.

Cypher··on A room-temperature superconductor? New developments
China leads the way, US wants to decline and rest
Cypher··on Ask HN: Is the market bad, or am I having the worst luck job hunting?
I've been looking for 6 months too, I'd say I've had 5 or 6 that got to the interview stage. Lots of screening calls and nothing much afterwards. Came close 2 twice to landing a job but too much competition. It's a bad market. I have another 2 interviews Monday but I'm dreading one that is like a pair programming test which I get anxiety over just thinking about it. I much prefer take homes but IDK we just gotta keep looking and hope things bounce back I guess.
