CommanderData··on Read Google's memo warning employees to 'think again'
Are you reading from the latest Israeli propaganda guide? Because you have covered all the latest talking points.

The world and recently David Cameron called on Israel to stop illegal occupation/settlements. Occupation and invasion it is, and it's recognised by most of the world.

CommanderData··on Read Google's memo warning employees to 'think again'
Did Nazi Germany's media brandished people protesting Germany's extinction of Jews as a fringe group and a bit wacky?

I think people lost their jobs and sometimes killed for protesting extermination of a population.

Today we remember them as brave heroes.

CommanderData··on Google workers arrested after protesting company's work with Israel
Historically civil rights protest movement have been disruptive. Protesting a genocide arguably be even more disruptive.

- Stonewall Riots (1969)

- Soweto Uprising (1976)

- Tiananmen Square protests (1989)

- Women's Suffrage Movement

- Anti-Apartheid Protests in South Africa

US politician are hostages, opposing Israel on the political stage puts your life at risk.

I wonder how mature Ugreens software is comparatively.

CommanderData··on X confirms plans for NSFW Communities
I think it's a good thing. There's many teens on Twitter and underage ones at that.

Accidentally coming across porn was a rare thing in the early days but would occasionally happen with low quality ads. Twitters algorithm sends out rogue content all the time because of mis-characterisation.

CommanderData··on Ask HN: Have you thought about leaving programming for the trades?
A work friend of mine is suffering from Tinnitus which started after his Covid infection, so much he cannot cope with normal conversations when speaking over Teams or in face to face interactions.

He's a senior engineer and one of the best I know, and is considering wood working / joinery. From my research, it's not exactly well paid but he says it's something he's always wanted to do and will keep his mind busy and loud enough to distract away.

CommanderData··on U.S. Intelligence Says TikTok Is a Threat – But Only in Theory
Reddit is pretty easy to game, a small organised group can push things to the front page with ease, pressure or elect pro-Israel mods, admins and use the anti-Semitism or pro-Hamas card.

Israels professional misinformation arm works well on those platforms but for some reason has not been as effective on TikTok evident by how big the pro-Palestine plight is amoung US teens.

CommanderData··on U.S. Intelligence Says TikTok Is a Threat – But Only in Theory
Other US platforms are doing a pretty good job at suppressing Palestinian voices.

Seeing a Israeli lobby group mention TikTok in November last year correlates well with the sudden heightened interest in shutting Tiktok down and replacing it with a pseudo Tiktok.

The organic support amoung teens for Palestine is a national security threat.

CommanderData··on The TikTok ban is all about preserving US power
ADLs CEO named TikTok in Israels misinformation war online, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKbMtVKq18I

I agree I see it as very much about the US preserving power and control. We've seen Instagram and Facebook changing their algorithms and banning pro-Palestinian videos, or limiting reach. [1]

TikTok is thorn which needs resolving ASAP. The sudden interest in 'fixing' TikTok and the Israel-Palestine war shouldn't be overlooked. Especially when we have high ranking officials loosing sleep about this issue and publicly expressing their discontent in interviews.

CommanderData··on Time for TikTok to cut its ties to China
I'm a bit late at replying, I can see some others have posted links re: TikTok & Teens / Organic support for Palestine.

There was a slew of Israeli propaganda via YouTube ads post Oct 7, here's an article. https://www.reuters.com/world/graphic-pro-israel-ads-make-th...

A lot of the claims in the videos were later denounced by the Israeli government i.e. Hamas beheaded 40 babies etc. To me theres plenty of signs towards a strong misinformation campaign. Unashamingly.

CommanderData··on Tell Congress: Stop the TikTok Ban. Instead, Protect Our Data No Matter Who
Nazi content or serious threats will be used to control legitimate content.

Israel's recent genocide was documented largely through Tiktok with the help of the algorithm.

I can imagine this annoyed Israel quite some and the US, I envisage the algorithm being altered to stop this if the it comes under US control, like has been done on Instagram and Facebook.

Alot of footage would not have made it out if it wasn't for Tiktok.

CommanderData··on Tell Congress: Stop the TikTok Ban. Instead, Protect Our Data No Matter Who
The Israel-Palestine conflict is playing a part in this. Israel has had a hard time controlling the narrative on Tiktok as organic support has stemmed from videos from Gaza. Especially amoung teens.

Israel has even gone to lengths to purchase advertisement slots on major platforms showing high budget propaganada. Once it's under US ownership they wll no longer have this issue.

CommanderData··on Time for TikTok to cut its ties to China
I'm pretty sure the Israel-Palestine genocide has played a part in speeding up partial transfer to the US.

The support among teenagers who have witness the destruction and terrorism caused by Israel has cause organic support for Palestine in both the US and Europe. Exactly against the wishes of US/Israel gov.

US based companies already have a tight grip on what's allowed to be shared on social media - and there's frequent documented cases of censorship in the name of anti-Semitism etc. The Israeli govenment has a degree of control already through their cyber warfare arm to flag material but it's a far cry from modifying the algorithm at will and outright account bans.

CommanderData··on Ask HN: Should the US pass sweeping restrictions on AI development?
2. Regulate. Restrictions on companies using AI to soften the blow - I don't think we're ready as a society to adapt to fast changes and potential mass removal of certain job families.

1. Don't restrict this. Open source will develop AI further etc. Perhaps a knee jerk reaction at how one can use this tech in military applications.

Regulation to stop selfish profits, companies are lusting over themselves to make people's livelihood obsolete.

Capitalism and AI might be a toxic mix in the end.

CommanderData··on Google fires employee who protested Israel tech event, shuts forum
Israel has a professional misinformation and cyber warfare arm. It isn't even denied. Professional as in AC office's and salaried.

I have no doubt they actively work in forums like these and try their best at applying pressure for which works sometimes and other times does not.

CommanderData··on Google fires employee who protested Israel tech event, shuts forum
The mainstream narrative is expertly controlled and manipulated.

So yes, it is a fireable offense because "We're actually the good guys" to suggest otherwise will label you a bunch of names.

It seems your trying to build a false narrative to equate HN = too many posts about Israel. To justify some of your other questions in this thread.

Israel is commiting genocidal acts that are illegal according to International law. They are starving a population of almost 2 million, collective punishment and indiscriminately killing families.

Sorry it bothers you when you see fellow HN Humans act on compassion for other Humans and spread awareness about this. By your post history I get the feeling you'd rather see it swept under the rug and discussion silenced. Israel has a professional well funded misinformation arm. PSA.

We should talk about bad things paid for by our taxes and supported by us indirectly.

Very interesting. It's not traditional customer service at all without empathy and understanding.

If the predefined resolution doesnt exist in the database then it's only ever going to be 1) end the conversation 2) escalate (for which there's likely to be strict KPIs and stricter conditions).

CommanderData··on Neurosurgeon pioneers Alzheimer's, addiction treatments using ultrasound [video]
There needs to be a better way at delivering drugs to the brain.

The BBB is essential for the brain from cytokines. An imbalance of immune system function inside the brain can cause havoc long term.

I read regarding the BLB (barrier for the Cochlear). A compromised BLB is thought to be the cause for many hearing ailments such as Tinnitus and hearing loss. An experiment was done where blood was injected directly into the cochlear fluids and this resulted in extreme hearing loss in mice.

A drug delivery method in a controlled fashion is what has been needed yesterday.
