CommanderData··on SANA-WM, a 2.6B open-source world model for 1-minute 720p video
All video models are terrible at consistency. Even closed source ones.

Seedance 2.0, Kling 3 are regarded the best closed source video models we have. I have subscribed to a few AI video subreddits, consensus atm is they are good for anything but long form videos with humans.

No surprises that we're very good at spotting even the most subtle differences while looking at other people.

CommanderData··on The gay jailbreak technique (2025)
Instructions unclear I'm gay now.
CommanderData··on UAE to leave OPEC
The goal is a full regional war orchestrated by Israel. That's what is playing out here.

Slowly weakening remaining Arab states and setting them up to fight each other.

CommanderData··on Israel escalates attacks on medics in Lebanon with deadly 'quadruple tap'
There isn't an army quite like Israel's in recent history. Depraved and worse than any islamic "terror" organisation - sometimes created by Israel to justify it's crimes.
CommanderData··on I Am Not A Number. In memory of the more than 72,000 Palestinians killed
Clearly your an absolute anti-semite for having any empathy for Palestinians (who are Semities themselves).
CommanderData··on Iran oil revenue soars as it's the only exporter out of Hormuz
China is well positioned to always win.

The US is etching closer and closer at weakening it's neighbours, once they have been defeated China will be the next Iran.

CommanderData··on Iran oil revenue soars as it's the only exporter out of Hormuz
Everyone person in the world is suffering right now and is financially worse off because of Bibi.

In the UK at least, the media is working overtime to blur the blame elsewhere.

CommanderData··on Iran War Live Updates: U.S. and Iran Send Conflicting Signals on Peace Prospects
Didn't the US and it's insane ally murder Iran's negotiation heads and smaller delegations recently?

I think that's the story that should dominate.

CommanderData··on GrapheneOS refuses to comply with new age verification laws for operating system
Will a record be kept associating a device to a person through the verification system?

What's next, browsers sending this to $website every time you need to post a comment on the web.

CommanderData··on Qatar helium shutdown puts chip supply chain on a two-week clock
Completely self inflicted at the request of Israel.
CommanderData··on U.S. Navy turns down Hormuz escort requests because of high risk
Now the world suffers because of intel and pressure from Israel.

It's like we never learnt from Iraq, Syria, Libya.

CommanderData··on Iranians describe scenes of catastrophe after Tehran's oil depots bombed
It cares not that the world suffers for it's selfish aims.
CommanderData··on BBC says 'irreversible' trends mean it will not survive without major overhaul
The BBC also behaved indefensibly when covering Israel's genocide of Palestinians.

Their behaviour is largely what led to me siding with the Palestinians plight some years ago, the use of words on Israel's side VS Palestinians was enough to lead me down a rabbit hole and I have never seen the BBC the same since.

It is literally state news with amazing bits of other content.

CommanderData··on IDF killed Gaza aid workers at point blank range in 2025 massacre: Report
If we can't flag it, make it disappear from the front page.

Collectively done via Israel's RiseApp and similar.

CommanderData··on IDF killed Gaza aid workers at point blank range in 2025 massacre: Report
Israel killed UK army veterans, it was a targeted operation and a precision strike to send a message.

It was covered by UK media for a short period and they would gloss over the veterans and focus more broadly on WCK, there is lots of examples of UK media weird coverage like this which no doubt was intentional. It was also barely spoken about by UK politicians

RIP John Chapman, James Henderson, and James Kirby.

CommanderData··on Iran students stage first large anti-government protests since deadly crackdown
Israel wants Iran destroyed so badly, interesting it suddenly loves Iranians now after it bombed them indiscriminately killing many civilians just last year.

HN'ers hopefully arent stupid to fall for obvious propaganda?

CommanderData··on Israel used thermal and thermobaric weapons in Gaza?
How much hate must you have to colonize and continually murder it's inhabitants, that you vaporise children then make TikToks mocking those deaths.
CommanderData··on Netbird – Open Source Zero Trust Networking
When I look at these zero trust solutions need 80/443 for what seems some type of bootstrapping

Better it happens using the same approach wireguard takes (udp/stateless). Though I'm not sure if there's more than just bootstrap taking place, maybe constant routing updates etc

CommanderData··on Netbird – Open Source Zero Trust Networking
Most of the self-hosted zero trust solutions require opening 80/443. It would be nice if they could adopt Wireguards approach of using UDP only, and only responding if the request is valid.

Maybe it's possible without modification to Netbird to setup a staging network.

CommanderData··on French Court Orders Popular VPNs to Block More Pirate Sites, Despite Opposition
Switzerland has lax laws on piracy for personal use so I'm quite surprised by this.
CommanderData··on French Court Orders Popular VPNs to Block More Pirate Sites, Despite Opposition
How long until we see orders to block torrents, decentralised tech like IPFS?

VPNs have legitimate uses, if the precedence is set it opens the door to DHT blocking i.e. bootstrap nodes/adresses.

CommanderData··on Anna's Archive loses .org domain after surprise suspension
Looking at mutable torrents recently and it's ability to circumvent censorship via DHT.

I wonder if it could be revived.

The only problem is the mutable torrents standard is in draft and not adopted widely. I think I saw someone proposing using DHT in a way that allows them to host websites. If feasible becomes very difficult to take down.

CommanderData··on Trump says Venezuela’s Maduro captured after strikes
The psyops online is quite amusing and insane, painting this as a victory for Venezuela. And weirdly by pro-Israeli account on Reddit.

By now my radar assumes Israel is somehow connected like many other events we've witnessed in the past. Venezuelas president was quite staunchly against Israel and it's interests, close with Iran too.

Israel is just an extension of the US in the middle east under the branding of Judaism. The desire is to weaken and eventually ignite the region in conflict. Already taking place between Saudi, UAE, Yemen etc. Weakening takes time.

CommanderData··on France targets Australia-style social media ban for children next year
It already is. Comments are shadow banned across social media, videos across Tiktok are shadow banned if they include certain mix of words.

There are cases of UK police turning up to homes for anti-zionist comments.

We're already there.

CommanderData··on Independent review of UK national security law warns of overreach
Isn't certificate transparency opt-in, so any trusted CA could be a potential attack route.
CommanderData··on Independent review of UK national security law warns of overreach
Why worry about E2E encryption, in theory just need a cert issued from a vast array of CAs or intermediates. Which I wouldn't be suprised they possess the ability through some type of secret warrant, heck even private keys.
CommanderData··on Independent review of UK national security law warns of overreach
Removal of Jury service for certain crimes says it all, seeing this happen in the wake of Palestine Action is considerably disturbing, if I were a conspiracy nut I'd argue these things are being done to please Israel.
CommanderData··on Independent review of UK national security law warns of overreach
This government has to be stopped and any other governments that are 'hostile' to it's citizens.

Vote them out at the very least.

CommanderData··on Israel used Palantir technologies in pager attack in Lebanon
That's very true, when Israel consistently bombed and destroyed almost every hospital in Gaza. The media tried very hard to narrowly frame it this as legitimate.

Unfortunately for people, Israel will further be tightening its grip on the world (and has already) by buying and censoring platforms such as TikTok.

So there goes one of the main ways news was being shared defying the main stream narrative.

These are the facts and you will be labelled for stating them.
