CodeKommissar··on Ask HN: Tools for building high performance REST API in 2019
Sorry to ask, but what's fresh?
CodeKommissar··on Ask HN: What problem in your industry is a potential startup?
Could you expand a little bit?

I'm from Venezuela, it is not a developing country right now. But it may be in the future.

CodeKommissar··on Ask HN: Do I have to lie to get first tech job?
What method did you use to get your first job?
CodeKommissar··on Ask HN: What should I do with my life?
Kind of an off-topic question; I've never read the bible and I thought this year would be a good time to do so. What version of the bible would you recommend? I've browsed online and notices that there many version but I don't which would be a good one to begin reading. Thanks :)
CodeKommissar··on Ask HN: Why are billionaires not giving more money away?
> they outed him as gay (completely legal)

Lol, I don't know about this.

If I were a pretty public outlet media and said to everyone "Hey! foobarchu is gay/tranny/whatever" (without your consent) and that affected your personal life, relationships with other people, etc. Wouldn't you think that is illegal? Or at least it should be in my opinion.

Yeah it is the same book :)
CodeKommissar··on Ask HN: Books on specific topics that have applied to many areas of your life?
Yeah exactly, the whole book was about improving your "inner game" (your beliefs, your values, etc) so you wouldn't have to worry yourself about the "outer game".

> But you certainly have to look over the edges of the pick-up community.

Agreed, many of the teachings and mentors of the pick-up community can be very shaddy and outright bad for the long-term development of a person.

> It's best not to know how the sausage gets made when it comes to K-pop.

Yeah I tough the same after a while, obviously is all an act, nobody can be so cheerful 24/7 but I still enjoy the music videos and the funny compilations hehe.

Thanks for the recommendations! I will check them later :)

I couldn't find any online link for the pdf, but I think I still have the book somewhere in my laptop.

I can send it to you as an email if you want.

CodeKommissar··on Ask HN: Books on specific topics that have applied to many areas of your life?
Not OP, but the book he is referring is probably Endgame by Leigh Louey Gung aka "Logun", and he was an Australian "pick-up artist" (I don't think he called himself a pick-up artist, but whatever). He wrote some books, did video courses and writed articles in this site: http://attractioninstitute.com/, but I don't think he is active anymore (altough his site is still online).

I would recommend the book. It wasn't just a bit about how to pickup random women on the streets, it was more about why and how to improve yourself so you could get in a state were doing anything that before could cause you pain or anxiety (like approaching a random women in the street just to ask her what time is it), more easy, but that was just a consequence of improving yourself.

Keep in mind that I read the book 3 or 4 years ago, so I wouldn't be capable to say if is still as good as I remember it, but I'd still recommend anyone to read it.

CodeKommissar··on Ask HN: What is your weirdest secret YouTube addiction?
As of right now: Kpop.

Last week I watched a video called 'Likey' by a Kpop group called Twice because a channel I'm subscribed to was reacting to it, and now I'm hooked.

I thougth I wouldn't like it, but they seem so cute and happy, and I've found that watching their videos is (in my case) a good way to relieve stress after a long day of programming.

CodeKommissar··on Ask HN: What are you learning right now?
ES6 and React :)
CodeKommissar··on The Repressive, Authoritarian Soul of “Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends”
I've watched all the bus episode (from the 6:30 mark), and I don't think it was that bad. He just complained for 10 seconds that he wanted to ride the school bus.

"Minor" character flaws that I'd point out were that Caillou had to be told by his mother to say thank you to the bus driver, and that he gifted the bus driver with a drawing of himself riding the bus (what an egomaniac that Caillou).

But yeah, I don't have kids, so is normal that I never thought of supervising what tv cartoons would they watch, and now is something important that I'll pay attention in the future.

That's a pretty funny answer.

The things you learn when you grow up haha. I remember to have watched Caillou when I was a kid but obviously I never noticed Caillou behaving badly.

Lol why was Caillou "totally banned" for your little kids??
