CodeBeater··on 10% of households pay more than 80% of taxes on alcohol and cigarettes
Mostly pool hall sort of places I'd imagine.

I'm a very big fan of the São Paulo approach, just ban indoor smoking everywhere, period. The only places you are allowed to smoke are inside a dwelling or out in the street (with the caveat that there must be a clear view to the sky). Cigarettes are still cheap, but unwanted smog doesn't bother me anymore.

Curious, this article seems to be translated (properly, not automatically) for me.

I also fear that due to the extreme "politification" of everything the narratives that survive might not be accurate. But oh well, "the victors write history" I guess.

>> yet they expect GbPS for 39.99. 39.99 doesn't even cover truck costs for 5 years when somebody drives over or cuts fiber line on the street or digs to plant a tree, forget about any profit or return for the company.

Is there anything technical preventing companies from offering dedicated speeds and lines at a premium at residential neighborhoods other than pure economics?

Probably because they were using well-circulated currency for their lower prizes ($5, $10, etc...), and they were afraid of contamination as the prize appears to be touching the liquid itself.

This whole thing could be turned into a great opportunity to start a sister website for content not related to sports.

I mean, they already got the publicity about it, right? They can even play a "by the writers" angle.

Tomato, tomato. At least it was put to good use.

Insured or not, most other countries will find a way to bring you back into your country of residence, usually by securing you a seat that's not available to the general public (like a jump or a stewardess seat).

I'm just not entirely sure how they would go about doing it in such a large scale if no such insurances were in place.

It leaves a bad taste in my mouth too, but at least that's taxpayer money going directly back to the taxpayer.
