Cilvic··on You said no MCP
but these bash scripts can not execute MCP tools.

What if I have an MCP Tool LookupZip(City) and want to chain it with a bash tool that prodcues a list of 100 cities. And then I want to filter again to the largest Zip code.

Cilvic··on Pi.dev: You Said No MCP
I'd assume separate sessions are not aware of each other, sub-agents are spawned by an orchestrator agent?

Cilvic··on Gemini 3.8 Live and 3.8 Live Extended Thinking
Did anybody find the price on this?
Cilvic··on Understanding the recent DDoS attack against Read the Docs
I definitely fall into that, on linux it's just a lot of extensions, scripts etc. Thing is, it's also brittle and not really useful for anybody to talk about it? Not sure I get what you mean with the third sentence.
Cilvic··on Mercury 2.5
I would have missed this, thanks
Cilvic··on Berd
thanks for sharing this. Maybe interesting for others who missed it: block was previously square. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Block,_Inc.
Cilvic··on Lidl Group stops buying company EVs:Why the Schwarz group is turning back to ICE
>The reason for the reversal is purely economic: The company buys company cars directly and later resells them as used cars. Unlike most companies, Schwarz does not rely on leasing. That is precisely what is now becoming a problem.

>This is because electric cars are losing value dramatically on the German used-car market. Demand for used electric cars remains weak.

Cilvic··on Stop Telling Me to Ask an LLM
>turns out moms of nerds sometimes ask their children tech questions because they miss their voice

Thanks, I'll to remember this.

Cilvic··on Interview with Mitchell Hashimoto about Ghostty and Zig
I've been thinking about this as well. How can people "AI federate" their forks, without relying on a single maintainer.

Mostly because in the pi.dev ecosystem there are so many similar extensions and usually everyone wants their own little special something, but then everyone could benefit from maintenance updates/bug fixes.

Cilvic··on Text Files as a User Interface
This reads so intriguing, I read it like 3 times but I still don't get it :-) Probably the heat
Cilvic··on We built a persistent agent memory layer on Elasticsearch with 0.89 recall
I wonder if one clear sign is so much custom language that makes me wonder "is this lingo used in that field" but more often than not it's just the LLM trying to sound hyper-professional?
Cilvic··on Remote work is bad for you
I couldn't let it rest, I was kind of sure that something so profound was thought and spoken before. So here is a finding that other might find equally interesting:

https://genius.com/Kurt-vonnegut-joe-heller-annotated

Kurt Vonnegut: True story, Word of Honor: Joseph Heller, an important and funny writer now dead, and I were at a party given by a billionaire on Shelter Island. I said, "Joe, how does it make you feel to know that our host only yesterday may have made more money than your novel 'Catch-22' has earned in its entire history?"

And Joe said, "I've got something he can never have."

And I said, "What on earth could that be, Joe?"

And Joe said, "The knowledge that I've got enough."

Not bad! Rest in peace!

Cilvic··on Show HN: Models Pie – LLMs ranked by fast / cheap / good tradeoffs
Super cool, I'm always interested in super high speed + quality. So I picked 50-50.

I'm trying cursor/composer mostly because it seems way faster than azure/aws/gcp

Anyways I'm probably doing, because most peers tell me the pick for intelligence and then let it run unattended "for ever" so ...

Cilvic··on Show HN: VoiceDraw – Talk system design out loud, the diagrams draw themselves
Cool to see that you did transcription AND LLM for the diagram with "in-browser" / local.

Tangent: But I'm wondering whether there would be something from the browser side to enforce this?

Like a sandbox so that my browser allows me to launch this via "download" only so that after I download everything there is no way for the website to get any of my data.

As a (non-technical) user what kind of guarantee do I have that the prompts, transcript etc. are treated only local?

Cilvic··on Remote work is bad for you
Beautifully said about having enough. Thank you
Cilvic··on DaVinci Resolve 21
Best release notes I have seen in a while. I don't even work with movies/pics, but this was so easy to understand. Well done
Cilvic··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2026)
+1 for 1) I started to notice this problem when going from harness to harness (pi.dev/omp/dirac) I'd be eager to try out others, but I can't leave all my plugins behind!
Cilvic··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2026)
What's the url?
Cilvic··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2026)
Super cool, I'm not on mac so I can't try. But I work on something similar for niri on linux. Trying to keep my projects separate.

One additional level I see appearing are the worktress when having multiple AI agents run in paralell. So while they belong to the same project, each worktree has theire own ide + browser etc.

Cilvic··on Show HN: Git for AI Agents
quite interested in this but I'm working pi/omp only at the moment.

Inspired by entire.io I've vibed a super small extension that seems similar to this: https://github.com/janmechtel/pintire

I expect this feature to eventually end up in the harness

Cilvic··on Show HN: OSS Agent I built topped the TerminalBench on Gemini-3-flash-preview
I assume that this benchmarks where done without any modifications to the default open-sourced harness. treesitter CLI would be an extra plugin for pi-mono, put I'd be equally curious about whether it would accomplish the task.
Cilvic··on Claude Brain
I'm looking for something like this to use per project for pi.dev or oh-my-pi

edit: oh-my-pi has https://github.com/can1357/oh-my-pi/blob/main/docs/memory.md which seems pretty close maybe i should try to use that more

Cilvic··on AI could be the end of the digital wave, not the next big thing
I can relate to this, in the past I felt like I could write down pages of projects to try if only I had time. Now my mind immediately goes towards "do I want to manage this long term after the initial spark".

Cilvic··on Show HN: Magic links – Get video and dev logs without installing anything
I was really intrigued by the title but "without installing anything" means "installing an extension" or not?
Cilvic··on AI Music Playlist Creator
I'm waiting for this! But I'm to consumer / usage is rare for me to build from repo

how often did I pickup my phone and just want to say "Hey my parents are over for my 5yo's birthday can we have something upbeat while we eat cake" and then be able to follow up "less vocals and a bit slower" to adjust the mood.

Cilvic··on Why deterministic output from LLMs is nearly impossible
So could SaaS LLM or cloud/api LLMs not offer this as an option? A guarantee that the "same prompt" will always produce the same result.

Also the way I usually interpret this "non-deterministic" a bit "broader".

Say i have have slightly different prompts "what's 2+2?" vs. "can you please tell me what's 2 plus 2" or even "2+2=?" or "2+2" for most applications it would be useful if they all produce the same result
