Chris911··on The overhead of abstraction in C/C++ vs. Python/Ruby
Except he's not comparing the C program and the Python one. He's comparing the time difference (or ratio) for each language with and without abstraction.
Chris911··on Dropbox.com hacked?
Dropbox response:

"Dropbox has not been hacked. These usernames and passwords were unfortunately stolen from other services and used in attempts to log in to Dropbox accounts. We’d previously detected these attacks and the vast majority of the passwords posted have been expired for some time now. All other remaining passwords have been expired as well."

Chris911··on Volt: A Ruby web framework where your Ruby runs on both server and client
Cool. Thanks for answering here. Great project I will surely give it a try at some point.
Chris911··on Volt: A Ruby web framework where your Ruby runs on both server and client
Why is this "released" now? The projects seems to be semi-dead (only a couple bug fixes since last April) [1].

Chris911··on Tracking two years of laptop battery use, sampled every minute
If you want to run this can of experimentation on your own, you can easily get these data points from the command line using iStats[1].

Chris911··on Discovering private APIs with Charles.app
Yep no luck for QuizUp here as well.
Chris911··on Discovering private APIs with Charles.app
I like Charles and have been using it for this exact purpose for a while now. I'm still wondering what's the best approach from a developer perspective to get around that and keep a private API private. Even if you build a different key for each request on Android you can work your way through obfuscated code and rebuild the logic. If the app requires the user to login running your own OAuth server can be a solution but are there any easier solutions?
Chris911··on Introducing the Revert Button
That would be awesome. The interface should be just like when you rebase and you get to select which commit you want to squash or keep.
Chris911··on Ask Stack Overflow for Atom
howdoi uses Google to find results on Stack Overflow while I used the Stack Exchange API for this package. I'm a bit disappointed with the results returned by the API both sorted by relevance and by votes. Down the road I'd like to merge the results from Google and the API to get the best set of answers.

Chris911··on OneNote Service API
I'll be part of Office Online Tools next summer. Not sure if APIs are part of this team. Little bit different now with the reorg.
Chris911··on OneNote Service API
In which group or division were you? DevDiv? Office? I also interned last year and interning again this summer and would like to work on something like this.
Chris911··on GitHub's Explore Email
They kinda do. But again based on the user's repos. https://github.com/trending/developers?since=weekly
Chris911··on Bruce Eckel on why he's moving back to Windows from Mac
Switched from Windows 8 (early builds) to OSX a few months ago and at the moment I don't see myself even going back to Windows for development. I'm realizing how much I missed the command-line from my Ubuntu days and how much you can develop in pretty much any language quite easily on a mac. It's the perfect development machine.
