Its a website you don't inspire trust from a web-page, trust is usually a function of a human interaction.
Chirag··on I am starting - Indian firm based on the YC framework

Chirag··on I am starting - Indian firm based on the YC framework
Design can be overhauled later, and this is not a priority.

As for spelling mistakes @colinplamondon, seriously. I give you a venture firm and all you can see it spellings, brilliant?

The purpose of this site is to serve as a 2/3 para about the idea, not in for the webby folks.

Chirag··on Ask HN: What's your favorite scientific paper?
Marketing Myopia - Theodore Levitt 16 pages. Publication date: Jul 01, 2004 http://www.casadogalo.com/marketingmyopia.pdf

At some point in its development, every industry can be considered a growth industry, based on the apparent superiority of its product. But in case after case, industries have fallen under the shadow of mismanagement. What usually gets emphasized is selling, not marketing. This is a mistake, because selling focuses on the needs of the seller, whereas marketing concentrates on the needs of the buyer. In this widely quoted and anthologized article, first published in 1960, Theodore Levitt argues that "the history of every dead and dying 'growth' industry shows a self-deceiving cycle of bountiful expansion and undetected decay." But, as he illustrates, memories are short.

Chirag··on Ask HN: Generally speaking, Do Indians Startups Suck at Marketing
Zoho is big enough for a startup.
Chirag··on Ask HN: Generally speaking, Do Indians Startups Suck at Marketing
redbus.in and makemytrip.com come to mind but again they are just an add-on nothing innovative.

Now I am thinking did we actually do a startup worth marketing?

Chirag··on CrunchPad Federal Lawsuit Filed; Some Additional Thoughts
Mr. Arrington and nice folks at TC seem to be removing any HN related comments for some reason. Strange.
Chirag··on Ask HN: Advice for seed-stage startup funding firm in India
What makes me a good investor: 1. I am an Engineer, with a keen sense of problem solving 2. Worked on 4 new products from conception to final product 3. I know there is a need in India to encourage people to start taking the entrepreneurial path, I am ready to provide the platform and I understand the risk. 4. There is an inherent approach in India by investors to only go after IIM's and IIT (Best Colleges in India), which doesn't make sense in long run. I have seen and faced this and I am sure I can change it. 5. Finally, I am passionate about Ideas and making India better.

Chirag··on Ask HN: Is there a cheap way to get money from customers (Not PayPal etc)
Can't think of already available service for this problem right now. However there is one solution I think you would have already though of this but here we go; Assimilate the cost till it reaches a bit bigger sum. That is if you have multiple purchase from the same customer.

Chirag··on Ask HN: What's the worst thing that could happen to Google?
My take is there is a yet a better way to search the Internet. We are still looking at search as a keyword driven application. Which is not the optimal approach to search. Though no one can argue that google give decent results to most of the searches you key-in. Search can be more intelligent and personalized as everyone expects a different result to the keywords "will apple fall".

If search can be made personal and more of a 1:1 activity that will go wrong with Google.

Chirag··on Ask HN: How should we promote our web-based startup for as-free-as-possible.
@maurcy Thanks, this technology behind the site which is as rightly pointed out is rss mashup is not the core strength.

The main USP, if you will of the site is the sources it polls and the editorial team.
