It was a very interesting and eye-opening article though I don't think we can wholly blame this on the marketing of video games. I have a sister who has never liked video games and instead spent her time with dolls even though me and my brother had always tried to get her into video games.

I remember when we got our first Tamagotchies. My sister fried her's by sticking it in a bucket of water. When we got her another one she used it for a few seconds and then played with her dolls.

I think -as seen in a article recently posted- that since boys brains are wired differently we are into different things and that is natural.

Also there isn't anything stopping girls from playing video games. To be honest I think a girl that plays video games is more attractive and I bet most men would.

NOTE: I am in no way saying "toys" are limited to boys or trying to imply anything sexist but what I am saying is that the division of boy toys and girl toys isn't wholly because of marketing.

Seems very interest and I'm actually considering using it except I have two questions, will this lag mobile or slow computers? And since I'm working on a chat web app which uses sockets will this affect it in anyway (eg. Lag)?

I suggest you check out node.JS, it's easy to learn since you have a JS background and it should handle well with what you're doing.

They could've prevented this with using a salt, but instead of using a salt they make it even worse by not hashing but using encryption.

Basically if some one got the key they could get the passwords to everything including the FBI Agents and then they could possibly hack their emails.

I completely agree though I think the head teacher probably saw the attack on his school and used the students use of words like anarchism as a justification for punishing him which I don't think the student deserved.

I'm currently working on a very HTML/JS heavy open source project and a co-developer had included some center and bold tags in the code. I will instead replace them with em/strong and inline:center; since I would not like our project to be judged by our absense of "best practice".

Even though the pictures are under Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 2.0 I do feel right using them and it seems like a lot of work to parse the data into your own website, there are server side libraries that can do this for you.

I actually have a Syrian friend who I've recently been talking to about the situation in Syria and what this man said is mostly true except that this has been brewing for a long time.

My friend's grandfather was sent to jail when his mother was 6, becuase his grandfather was a sunni politian against hafez assad's regim.

His grandfather was in jail for 20/30 years and he told me how his mother didnt even know or remember her father until he was let out and she got to know him.

He told me how when his mother was in school soldiers would drag sunni girls wearing hijab (face cover) by their hair out of the schools and they would never be seen again.

The government would treat Sunnis like second class citizens.

And something he didn't mention and most people don't know is that this very same thing is starting to happened in Lebanon.

The army of Lebanon is hizbollah which is a Shia terrorist organisation and they have been mistreating Sunnis and now Sunnis are starting to rebel. I have a friend that was living in Lebanon and moved back to Australia because he told me a civil war is going to start.

Agreed. I tried having a conversation with Chatterbot, I asked it a question and it replied "Do you listen to the sounds", then I said what sounds and it replied "I am not a guy". Chatterbot basically spouts random responses its gotten, from a database.
