BtM909··on Ask HN: Where do you get your AI (technology) news?
Thanks for the resource. I'll add it to my list of things to check daily.

Never heard about lobsters, cool! I'm gonna monitor that one for the next few weeks.

Problem with GH Trending is that it doesn't tailor the new stuff to real-life application.

BtM909··on Ask HN: Where do you get your AI (technology) news?
I follow HN, and this is great for general tech (that you would find / hear anywhere else) and specific tech (that you normally don't hear about).

Randomly searching for topics gives good background info. I'm more looking for news about emerging AI technology, so 9 out of 10 times, topics you haven't heard about before.

Thanks

Ah interesting. Although I'd rather go to a website, it does seem interesting to consider subscribing to the paid newsletter.

Thanks!

BtM909··on Australia has so much solar that it's offering everyone free electricity
More countries where there's a surplus, are advising people to charge or use electricity during the day.
BtM909··on Australia has so much solar that it's offering everyone free electricity
> The Australian government is floating a scheme that would share the benefits of solar power with everyone on the grid, offering totally free electricity to ratepayers in the middle of the day, when the sun is shining the strongest.

> Australia proposes letting everyone benefit from negative wholesale rates

I know more countries have this now, so that's a good initiative that hopefully will spread to other countries (with negative rates).

BtM909··on Does Form Shape Function?
As an extra FYI, they also have other nice episodes about science and mathematics.
BtM909··on The Last of Us Part II – Seattle Locations Tour
Very cool!

Obviously, people know, but for the others: occassionally someone posts the actual locations to compare to the game. Here are some amazing examples:

BtM909··on Animate Anyone 2: High-Fidelity Character Image Animation
First of all, this looks very impressive (besides that it will be used for memes, haha), but can someone explain why the faces and movements look almost cartoon-like?
BtM909··on Everything about Google Translate crashing React (and other web apps)
But wouldn't it be the same when Google translate is actively replacing nodes?

BtM909··on New York claims a small victory in 'forever war on rats'
I once saw a rat trying to open a wheelie-bin and when it looked up to me, I could see it think: shit, I'm busted; they know we are smart.

You're linking to a submission that links back to this one :)
BtM909··on macOS Packaging for Ungoogled-Chromium
Isn't the original repo linking to this one? The only thing I notice, is that this one is notarized by Apple.

Can someone ELI5 this, please?

opponthoud -> oponthoud

Although, because I'm looking at it, I get semantic satiation.

BtM909··on Ask HN: Does anyone use sound effects in their dev environment?
Also reminds me of that old website where people could send text messages to (before Twitter existed).

There was this story of a person who could ping a machine and he knew it was in his house, but for the love of God couldn't find the machine. It's a very short story, but he ends up looking at the pings not knowing where this machine is runnning.

BtM909··on Waymo One is now open to everyone in San Francisco
They're electric cars, so I assume they don't need to be juiced up in between rides.
BtM909··on Research on the visual rabbit illusion takes a leap forward
You have to focus on the cross, and the demo on the page is slowed down. I don't know why they don't have the original speed there.

BtM909··on Show HN: Dimity Jones in Puzzle Castle: An Electronic Escape Novel
Sorry to hear about your wife. This looks interesting.

I find this quote a bit funny: > While Dimity Jones is still in its debugging/proofreading phase, please refrain from sharing it more widely or putting it any (other) public place.

If this is picked up here on Hackernews, be ready hehe.
