Bjoern··on Poll: Do you use a gmail.com address for your primary personal email?
Depends how much flexibility you want/need. Dovecot is pretty easy and straight forward.

Here is one with virtual domains, etc. might be overkill for your usecase though.

I personally run a stack over courier and some other hacks ontop of rdeliver, which works really nicely.

Important: Please always make sure to check that you don't run an open relay.

Greylisting, Amavis with Spamassassin, SPF, DKIM works for me, but your mileage may vary.

Does anyone have some comments regarding voting agreements in the context of VCs ?

Bjoern··on Pithy.js - An internal DSL for generating HTML in JavaScript
This is quite interesting, thank you for open sourcing it.

I can see how this can be helpful cleaning up e.g. common string concatenation snippets in code bases.

Curious, what kind of software do you guys use internally to track financials which is also accessable to the rest of the employees ?

Good work ! Thank you for adding more variety to the ecosystem. :)

There was alot of discussion on a similar one recently created on pure JS only called intro.js. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5380056

Lets try to get a list together with all similar solutions for the community:

OpenSource similar solutions:

- jQuery Impromptu http://trentrichardson.com/Impromptu/

- Zurb Joyride http://foundation.zurb.com/docs/components/joyride.html

- Intro.js (js only) http://usablica.github.com/intro.js/

Bjoern··on Rails Vulnerability Compilation
Its quite interesting that even customers start asking now "oh its rails, that is so insecure". Sign, quite alot of media hysteria going on.
Bjoern··on Show HN: Weekend project, Intro.js
Sorry we haven't yet. Let me clean it up and get back with it.
Bjoern··on Show HN: Weekend project, Intro.js
We built something similar like this based on jQuery Impromptu and merged it together with HowlerJS. This way we have a nice website walkthrough with voice if desired.

Good stuff! Thanks for this.

Just to put it out there, here is an alternative built on jquery.

Ah sorry for the misunderstanding the paragraph was just copy&pasted by me from my old notes file.
Bjoern··on Automate Your Life: Sending Emails
If you like the idea of this then you will also like this one. It goes a bit further, still on my todo list for interesting fun projects.

Hillary Mason

Substitute yourself by some small scripts Document classification

Just stumbled upon a YouTube clip of one of the best Ignite presentations I've seen, by Hilary Mason, a computer scientist at Bit.ly. Mason wrote a series of scripts that auto-respond to email with particular content, and auto-nag folks she's emailed but hasn't gotten a response from yet. Hit the play button to hear more. She says once the code's fit for sharing she'll put it up on GitHub. Cannot wait.

Is there some Open Source solution in the similar spirit as document.ly? Would love this, but has to be running inside the company only.
Bjoern··on LinkedIn is a Virus
That explains why $random people I've never met send me connect invites. I normally ignore them, but still waste time trying to figure out if its important or not. -.-.

Can one safely ignore all these "Business" networks? Wonder what people get out of it.

Bjoern··on App Developer Makes Craigslist Mobile, the Legal Way
The app looks really sleek and well designed. Could you give us some idea of your development process and how you approached this problem?

I am curious to learn more also about what kind of tools and libraries you used, if you have the time to elaborate.

Thanks !

Bjoern··on Easy way to build product tours with Bootstrap
Nicely done. Seems to be doing exactly the same as this one. Good for choice :).

Bjoern··on Final project reports from 2012 Stanford Machine Learning class
Coming from a research background I can totally understand your feeling. Once you have read enough of those papers, you start to kind of skim through them more easily.

Unfortunately, quality of papers and their readability highly depend on the skill of the author. There are some papers which are easy and entertaining to read because of the writing skill and effort put into it. Many though are not nice at all.

Here is an entertaining but serious one... http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~rja14/Papers/cocaine.pdf

I know its yet another useless comment, but back in the day of E16 and beginnings of E17 I was a really big fan. Its great to see it finally being Alpha!
