Bellyache5··on Whistleblower: Ubiquiti Breach “Catastrophic”
AWS SSO does offer this "out of the box", but many large organizations use their own custom SSO setup with custom-built tools to get temporary tokens.
Bellyache5··on Chrome Music Lab
This reminds me of Mario Paint.
Bellyache5··on Pipeline Design Patterns for Continuous Delivery
One of the authors here. In GitLab CI, you can create that manual trigger button by including the `when: manual` parameter in your .gitlab-ci.yml. You can also restrict who can click that button for protected pipelines, such as those that deploy to production. (https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/ci/yaml/#whenmanual)

For GitHub Actions, try `workflow_dispatch` (https://github.blog/changelog/2020-07-06-github-actions-manu...).

Bellyache5··on Public asked to report receipt of any unsolicited packages of seeds
Well the Chinese Communist Party has the personal information of at least 44% of all Americans thanks to their hack of Equifax so it probably wasn't too hard for them to do a mail merge.

Bellyache5··on Every Branch Gets a Stack: A How-To Guide
OP here. Happy to answer any questions.
Bellyache5··on macOS Catalina 10.15.5
FWIW, I don't believe FaceTime requires others' phone numbers. I think it can be a phone number or any email address tied to their Apple ID, similar to iMessage.
Bellyache5··on Jitsi Meet: An open source alternative to Zoom
So the Jiujitsu academy is now practicing Jiujitsi!
Bellyache5··on ThinkPads 2020 - X13 AMD - X1 Nano?
What is the difference between the T495s and the non-“s” model? Lenovo’s site doesn’t make that clear.
Bellyache5··on 15 states are trying to make the electoral college obselete
The United States is not a democracy. It is a republic.
Bellyache5··on Sunsetting Mercurial Support in Bitbucket
It seems that Bitbucket and GitHub are trying to emulate GitLab’s strategy of being a one-stop tool rather than just version control.
Bellyache5··on US Gen Z and the iMessage Lock-In
Based on that Twitter thread, they are starting new group messages that don't include their Android friends and abandoning the original group message.
Bellyache5··on Pi-hole: A black hole for Internet advertisements

Bellyache5··on The new boomtowns: Why more people are relocating to ‘secondary’ cities
At least in the US, apartments are typically owned on a per-building basis, and generally by a company or investor. Buildings where each unit has an individual owner are typically referred to as condominiums. Buying a condo unit also entails buying an ownership share in the condo association that maintains common areas and such. In an apartment, you just pay your rent and utilities and the landlord is responsible for everything else.
Bellyache5··on Mac mini Late 2018 Teardown
I wouldn’t want this little storage onboard, but recent macOS versions do include the feature to automatically shuffle infrequently files up to iCloud.
Bellyache5··on Paper Airplane Designs
Try making a paper airplane with Galactica’s octagonal sheets of paper!
Bellyache5··on AWS icon quiz
I don’t think Alexa is considered an AWS product/service. While you need AWS’ Lambda to make it work, Alexa is an Amazon (versus AWS) product.
Bellyache5··on GitLab Web IDE
Or Atom’s Teletype plugin.
Bellyache5··on Show HN: Tiny Tiny RSS CloudFormation Template
I've been using TT-RSS (https://tt-rss.org) as my RSS feed reader for years. There are other ways to deploy it, but this is a simple CFN template I built to deploy a scalable TT-RSS service in AWS.
Bellyache5··on Tesla switching to 24/7 shifts to push for more model 3s by June
> We are burning the midnight oil to burn the midnight oil.

This is an odd way to end a memo titled "Progress". Are employees supposed to be motivated by the prospect of a self-propagating series of tough slogs?

Bellyache5··on A fork on GitHub is no fork
GitHub gives you the option to allow/disallow forking for private repos at both the repo and organization level.

Bellyache5··on RSS: there's nothing better
I've been using https://tt-rss.org/ as a Google Reader replacement for years and highly recommend it. You do have to run it yourself, though.
Bellyache5··on Ask HN: Why isn't there a modern MS Access clone?
LibreOffice Base (http://www.libreoffice.org/discover/base/) fills the gap. It's a combination Access-like local database as well as a ODBC/JDBC client.
Bellyache5··on How to run a Meetup – Lessons learned running React Vienna for a year
DevOpsRVA (http://devopsrva.com) is a group for those interested in cloud computing and automation in the Richmond, VA, USA area. We've been meeting monthly for about 18 months, typically on the 4th Wednesday. If you're in the area, come join us!
Bellyache5··on Elementary OS Loki 0.4 Stable Release
There's no minimize button in app windows' title bars, but you can minimize an app by clicking its icon in the dock.
Bellyache5··on Being privacy-aware in 2016
You could run Firefox in a Docker container. It wouldn't protect between tabs, but would help isolate from the rest of the system.
Bellyache5··on Facebook Chats Are Being Scanned by a CIA Funded Company?
I remember someone from In-Q-Tel giving a presentation to one of my college classes. He explained that the company's name came from the desire to bring industry innovation to the US intelligence agencies; they are literally putting "Q" (the innovator/gadget guy in James Bond [1]) in "Intel".

Bellyache5··on Introducing Outlook.com - Modern Email for the Next Billion Mailboxes
Even though it's no longer under development, I wonder if Thunderbird's default tabbed interface would meet your needs.
Bellyache5··on ReactOS (open source Windows NT clone) accepted into Google Summer of Code 2011
I've found WinRM and PowerShell to be a pretty effective "ssh-like" tool for Windows. Plus it's object-oriented.
