Bayko··on Claude Code's source code has been leaked via a map file in their NPM registry
Ye I honestly don't understand his comment. Is it bad code writing? Pre 2026? Sure. In 2026. Nope. Is it going to be a headache for some poor person on oncall? Yes. But then again are you "supposed" to go through every single line in 2026? Again no. I hate it. But the world is changing and till the bubble pops this is the new norm

I too tell my boss to promote me and expect him to do so.

Based on what I have seen, read and experienced, a tech doesn't just go away. It evolves (unless you know one company was building it and then got shut down). Social media in the current form if it went away, would get replaced with something even worse.
Bayko··on Minions: Stripe’s one-shot, end-to-end coding agents
It made me disgusted reading it so I would say yes it did play with my emotions.
Bayko··on What dating apps are optimizing
That is the companies problem to solve. They are the ones making the product.
Bayko··on I'm not worried about AI job loss
> AI reduces the penalty for weak domain context

This is why (personal experience) I am seeing a lot of FullStack jobs compared to specialized Backend, FE, Ops roles. AI does 90% of the job of a senior engineer (What the CEOs believe) and the companies now want someone that can do the full "100" and not just supply the missing "10". So that remaining 90 is now coming from an amalgamation of other responsibilities.

Bayko··on Fluorite – A console-grade game engine fully integrated with Flutter
I was learning it and having a great time with it. Unfortunately the job market for it is abysmal. And in 2026 with the current state of the job market I didn't want to focus my time on something that wouldn't help me to get a job. But still the most fun I have had with a language.
Bayko··on Ex-GitHub CEO launches a new developer platform for AI agents
Just saw a Discord-weekend take on reddit! Haha. Guy was saying he could create it in a day and then self-host it on his servers so that he doesn't have to put Nitro ads on top of it

Boring Java dev here. Do I just sit this one out?

cons to YOU outway the pros. pros to HIM outway the cons.

Indian here. You are correct. Expecting any employed Indian software developer to not be able to spare 1$ is stupid. Like how exactly poor do you think we are?!

Everybody has a big ego when it comes to their own sense of humor, till they create an account on hackernews and get told they should stop being funny. I hope the other guy gets it
Bayko··on ChatGPT Health
I have what you would call metric shittons of ADHD. Medically diagnosed. Was kicked outta university for failing grades and all. Pills saved me. If you think you have it, the best thing you can do for yourself is at least get a diagnosis done. In b4 people come in and chime it can be faked. Yes the symptoms can be faked. But why would you if you really want to know what is wrong with you if any? (Hoping you aren't a TikTok content creator lurking here)

Langchain? I tried using/learning langchain then I found out that it was evolving so fast that even the latest ai models didn't have even remotely up to date information on it! Not to mention the hundreds of Google search results for ---- why do langchain docs suck? I finally switched to haystack and I have been really happy. (Don't work on corporate ai software this is just for personal use)

Bayko··on IBM to acquire Confluent
To me it makes sense when it comes to the stock. It's not like someone goes to Robinhood or whatever and goes... Hey you know what's underrated? Kafka! Calls on Confluent!

Bayko··on Meta replaces WhatsApp for Windows with web wrapper
My Brazilian friend told me they use Whatsapp as a replacement for Slack since they don't want to pay for Slack As an Indian, I can confirm the same here for many companies

Just here to say that's a banger of an url prison josh
Bayko··on John Carmack on mutable variables
A more common example for me at work is getting a response from url. Then you gotta process it further like response.json() or response.header or response.text etc etc. and then again select the necessary array index or doc value from it. Giving a name like pre_result or result_json etc etc would just become cumbersome.

Unfortunately when it comes to preparing for interview leetcode is pretty much required at all stages. For that the way that works for me is to never let go of it. I will solve 2 3 problems over a week even when I have a job. That downtime at work when you are at home or waiting for the next meeting...just leetcode. I absolutely hate LC and hate the fact that it is omnipresent but now no longer fear it. Except Dynamic programming. That thing can go f*ck itself. But ya now when it comes to LC I am "always" or rather one week away from interview ready.
Bayko··on OTranscribe: A free and open tool for transcribing audio interviews
Ah this brings back memories. When I was in college with limited money, I used to pirate movies and most of them didn't have subtitles and I used to daydream of writing a VLC plug-in which would real time generate subtitles. But I had better things to do like play video games...
