America should be a a place where everyone has a clear path to equity ownership in society without debt.

This change is starting in housing.

At Conara Homes we're working to improve the ability of people to take an active, powerful ownership stake in their societies while preserving freedom of movement and avoiding debt.

It's a large challenge.

Wow. That was unlike anything else I’ve read.

Also most people in the 16th century in Russia, Europe and even the Ottoman Empire would have considered themselves Roman of one variety or another.

I think you’re wrong. State, federal, local, speciality (food and alc), health, banking forms… as an entrepreneur there are already dozens of ways to screw up and miss something. Adding on extra things makes it easy to miss and adds on yet another burden.

How many forms how many times a year do we need to fill out to be able to be free commercially? Are you free if you can be fined and thrown in jail for not filling out paperwork?

It all adds up and doesn’t add any value.

Interesting how close politicians are with anything related to the moon. Nixon on TV as much as the astronauts in 69, Modi on TV here. Both during massive consolidations of power towards the leaders who also have major corruption scandals.

I asked it about how to transition from nation states to local ownership at scale and was very happy with its answer. Better and more comprehensive than anyone I think around me would have answered - in 5 seconds - and it introduced me to new concepts like time banks and community currencies which I could ask follow up questions on.

I think it’s truly mind blowing a computer can now simulate some of the best conversations I’ve ever had on a variety of topics.

Artistry121··on Ask HN: What is consulting and how to start?
It’s awesome when you have a good use and find clients you can provide value to. Less politics but also often requires sales and expectation setting so being your own manager.

If you can find good ways to charge for your time in a sustainable way and get some support around you it’s amazing. However the paperwork and admin can be a bit challenging to someone used to a simpler and set up environment.

Reach out and let’s talk. I’ve been doing it for a few years now and love it.

Artistry121··on Ask HN: Software with biggest potential for positive impact in 5 years?
I think a project based social network will emerge with some long term planning features and built for easy collaboration by hundreds and thousands of people.

As this grows i imagine we can coordinate large groups of people towards goals Like improving local communities, permaculture, and goals from the effective altruism community.

So in essence the way you were raised convinced you you'd rather someone not exist rather than have that childhood?

Is that because of what it did to you and your life or because of the stress on your parents?

That's so funny. I had a call with Charles 7 months ago and immediately thought of him when I saw this. Come back a day later and he's here!
Artistry121··on Ask HN: Who wants to collaborate?
Nice. I'm gonna send you an email. I can help in design, docs, and want to build some things on top of ActivityPub. Maybe we can help each other.

Want to reach out to me via my email please?

Dude nice! Gaia was great. Instantly recognized you from back in the day! Cool!

I'd love to make a 2d pokemon like game based on real world interactions that can be fun to play, include teaching social skills and business skills and life skills, and have the same joy and fun adventurousness as pokemon.

Would love to find a way to work together on something like that. I have a ton of fun real world experiences we could build in / characters / etc. and a vast idea world. A friend actually has a sci-fi universe of sorts and we could do some fun simple design around some of his plots. Lots of ideas. Would love to collaborate.

Nice! will you reach out to me too? I just paid to have an app developed and designed that is similar to this vein and would like to find more people creative and interested. I'm looking to launch in July and funded and have customers lined up and a core use case.
Artistry121··on Ask HN: Who wants to collaborate?
I have a finance / operations / marketing background and could probably help find a use for this at scale that can get it out. Even if not for the $$$ this could help get the tech out and build solid use cases. Would be fun to work on.

I really like this. And remake looks very powerful. I'd like to support this. I have a project management tool that ties in with financial planning for small businesses and am looking to add on basic web design features / customer portals for all my clients in a sustainable way that also unleashes their creativity. This type of tool - remake - and this seem to open the path to a more fun place and a useful place for making partnerships / getting to meet new people . Very cool.
Artistry121··on Show HN: Jig – Live coding your business dashboards (now with demo video)
HI there. I really like this. If I could get this hooked up to a database with some standard filters and host the output it'd be very valuable to me / my team. I use excel often but really just want to pull some stuff into tables.

I'll reach out and would love to be a user / tester / customer. I notice the .dmg doesn't allow me to open on my Mac bc its from an unsigned dev - if anyone else gets that just go to System Preferences and Security to unblock.

I think logging out or just starting a new account suffices. I also think in settings Youtube allows you to delete your history and therefore the algorithm's learning from it.

Most times I see the front page of youtube I'm happy they take me into my own universe of interests.

Artistry121··on Ask HN: Have you found something you love to do? If yes how?
Hello! Great question.

The past year I’ve fallen in love with life. This has been a combo of a few things - I found work as a consultant where I get to share a unique perspective that when paired with the work of others produces outsized results.

I get paid moderately well by nearly a dozen clients but am the lowest paid team member on each team on a monthly basis - so I don’t feel too much pressure to deliver exceptional results all the time - and the number of clients I have means if I get 1 win a year for all clients I can have a true win each month professionally.

These wins and experiences make me feel like I’m growing and contributing.

Aside from that I’ve developed open and honest relationships with my lover and my friends and see them regularly and I live with housemates so I get my extraversion solved through work and natural interactions even in covid. The honest relationships with my lover and number and depth of friendships has allowed me to not hold any desires back from asking while having less pressure to be the doer of everything. Teams and ideas naturally form over time which has led to fun side projects and profit as well.

I prefer now to give perspective rather than advice but I’d say having a “deal centric” attitude and meeting a lot of people and trying to start things with them - usually based on some process that provides value so you have a process to lean on - seems pretty solid.

For instance building internal portals for small teams or organizations and taking a small ongoing fee to do it could help you. Instead of project based work with a time bound - low to moderate monthly fees with a variety of people can allow you to find creative energy where product management, analytics, etc can help other peoples visions come true over years.

You can see visions come to life without too much stress and avoid a single point of failure.

Happy Christmas and lmk if you’d like to work together on something like this.

Artistry121··on Mob justice is trampling democratic discourse
When you look at courts in the South (but really anywhere in the US - just that for the stronger historical context), the length of time it takes people to get trials, the amount of money in major cases and the political careers of attorney generals justice has always been mob-like. Just focused on powerful mobs.

Artistry121··on The Future Is a Landscape
The space between despair and hope is filled with options. It is easier to think of extremes and binaries theoretically and this limits action.

Seeing things as landscapes, gradients, allows for choosing where to be on the spectrum.
