Amarok··on US blocks all offshore wind construction, says reason is classified
Ideallism, delusion and a hatred of windmills. Donald Trump is starting to sound a lot like Don Quixote.
Amarok··on U.S. bombs Iranian nuclear sites
As a counter-point, South Africa is unique as the only country to develop and subsequently dismantle a nuclear weapons program. It built 6 nuclear weapons during the apartheid era, but then voluntarily dismantled them and joined the NPT. This decision was influenced by international pressure, political changes, and a desire for greater global integration. Despite that, it suffered no negative consequences to its sovereignty or regional power projection abilities.

Amarok··on Trump temporarily drops tariffs to 10% for most countries
The guy he's referring to is Navarro, who invented an economist named Ron Vara to cite in his pro tariff book. He made up hi source using an anagram of his name, that's batshit crazy.
Amarok··on Scientist treated her own cancer with viruses she grew in the lab
Once the cancer starts to freely mutate it becomes much harder to contain. It's not just cleaning up defective cells, it's full on evultionary warfare between your immune system and the cancer.
Amarok··on Bop Spotter
Google search is now better than Shazam at recognising a tune. From experience, it can also detect the right tune when someone is (badly) singing it rather than playing the song.
Amarok··on A UK college student explaining congressional procedure to Washington
In the beginning there was Usenet. It was a wonderful microcosmos of technical expertise and niche hobbies. Then 1993 came and the constant flood of new users overwhelmed the culture and ability to enforce norms [1]. Truthfully, it didn't begin with Usenet. It's the old dilemma of universal access and freedom versus mutual coercion, mutually agreed upon. Even before that, Aristotle wrote "That which is common to the greatest number gets the least amount of care. Men pay most attention to what is their own: they care less for what is common." Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it.

Amarok··on Impending Collapse: Our System Is on the Cusp of Failure
It's much easier to become a UK citizen than an American. And yet that doesn't stop the ongoing socio-economical decline in the UK, from a world super power to the rejects of Europe. If America has an edge, immigration isn't it. Probably it's geography and natural resources. A good comparison to make would be with Canada, a country with worse geography and less resources, but similar or even friendlier immigration policy.

Amarok··on 4th leak reported on Nord Stream pipelines in Baltic Sea
Hard to say, if they get filled with ice plugs could be out of commission permanently.
Amarok··on 4th leak reported on Nord Stream pipelines in Baltic Sea
I believe this is confirmation that all 4 lines in Nordstream have been sabotaged and are out of commission for the near future.

Also confirmation that alleged attacks were in international waters.

The difference in magnitude of the explosions could be a clue to the method of sabotage. There was also a 17 hour delay between the 2 main explosions, that haappened 4.6km apart

Amarok··on Fourth Leak Discovered in Nordstream
Confirmation that all 4 pipes were damaged, meaning no gas can be delivered through Nordstream in near future. Confirmation alleged attacks were in international waters. Interesting that explosions were of different magnitudes, which could be a clue to the means of sabotage.
Amarok··on Gas Leak in the Baltic Sea
As an outsider, I still don't understand what this all hints at.

That the current Danish government was behind this to win the elections as the safer bet against Russian aggression?

That the US is behind this to justify a US base in Bornholm island?

How does the timing of explosions fit into all this? Specifically the Norway Poland pipeline coming online and Russian threats to NATO (implying nuclear weapons to defend occupied Ukrainian territories isn't a bluff).

I was thinking the same thing. The only solution I can see to demographic colapse is far from palatable: Euthanasia, or more specifically ritual senicide. Ättestupa as the Vikings called it.
Amarok··on Moderna Is About to Begin Trials for HIV Vaccine
The vaccine could have stopped the disease if they'd opted for IgA immunity instead of IgG. That means getting drops in your nose rather than a jab, so that immmune cells are activated in the mucosas rather than in the blood. Right now someone who's been vaccinated can continue to replicate and transmite the virus from the glial cells in the nose mucosa, because the immune cells there haven't been trained to fight the virus.
Amarok··on Moderna Is About to Begin Trials for HIV Vaccine
it's pointless to mess around with N95 if you haven't been fit tested. That means close shaves every day. A good analogy would be playing 4K video on a machine that can only render 720p resolution. You'll get a lot more buffering (discomfort) with no improvement in quality (proven benefit).
Amarok··on Moderna Is About to Begin Trials for HIV Vaccine
Incorrect. HPV is highly prevalent in men who have sex with men, causing anal and throat cancer.
Amarok··on 50% – 75% of cases of Covid-19 are asymptomatic
It's downvoted because it's dangerous and uninformed medical advice.

You can treat flu (influenza) with osetalmivir. People with mild symptoms can still be at risk, further testing is needed [1]

Please just phone your emergency line if you suspect you may have it.

Amarok··on 50% – 75% of cases of Covid-19 are asymptomatic
You should not be giving medical advice. 3% of people with no fever who test positive end up needing ITU admission. Deterioration can be sudden after the first week.
Amarok··on 50% – 75% of cases of Covid-19 are asymptomatic
Get a blood test. If CRP raised and lymphopenic, likelihood of ARDS requiring ITU admission is higher. This can happen very quickly after the first week, so I'd put pressure on the doctor to keep me hospitalized.
Amarok··on 50% – 75% of cases of Covid-19 are asymptomatic
If you're really desperate for a test go to the hospital and say you feel breathless. Dyspnoea is a subjective symptom but no doctor worth it's salt would just ignore it without investigating further.
Amarok··on Aerosol and surface stability of HCoV-19 compared to SARS-CoV-1 [pdf]

Amarok··on Protection afforded by surgical masks against influenza bioaerosols
Suggests 6x less risk of infection. Potentially 55x if taping to achieve better fit on the nose. Their protocol for fit testing is confusing and I suspect wrong. Inert particle test should be disregarded. The machine measures between 1.2 and 0.02micron and infectious aerosols are above 1micron for influenza A. Influenza and coronavirus have similar dimensions of around 0.1micron.
