Aeolun··on September 2026: The world today, as seen by one Polish guy
There’s no point in responding to people that have already judged and found wanting. I have better things to do with my time.

Though sometimes I still get pulled in, like now.

Aeolun··on California bans child marriage, a practice still legal in 32 US states
The question is if that has gotten better over time? Because age doesn’t really change all that much in my experience.
Aeolun··on California bans child marriage, a practice still legal in 32 US states
As in, it’s fine to marry if the child is pregnant, or the opposite?
Aeolun··on California bans child marriage, a practice still legal in 32 US states
Call me misguided, but I’m not sure adult life experience helps a lot with raising kids. It just means you grow out of touch.

I mean, most of the world has settled on 18 for this.
Aeolun··on California bans child marriage, a practice still legal in 32 US states
Yeah, I also question the distinction between a 17 year old marrying a 50 year old and an 18 year old marrying a 50 year old. Does your judgement suddenly magically get better after you turn 18?
Aeolun··on September 2026: The world today, as seen by one Polish guy
Thanks xD now I can’t stop thinking about polish oil.
Aeolun··on GPT 6.1 Sol: Near-Astra intelligence for a fifth of the price
I can’t say what will happen to you, but yes, that has been my experience. It is better to wait for your normal full limit to return, because if you use a banked reset you get only 1/5th of the tokens but you still have to wait the full week afterwards for it to reset. 20% would be fine if it didn’t also reset the date your normal reset fires.

Germany hasn’t historically been nice about leaving Polish oil to the Polish when they decide they need it though?
Aeolun··on September 2026: The world today, as seen by one Polish guy
This is cool, but like every website that tries to manipulate scrolling I eventually got too tired of that shit.
Aeolun··on Livenerf: Has Opus 5.5 been nerfed yet?
Tokens used / percentage change is a pretty obvious metric. They give you both, but they don’t do the math for you.
Aeolun··on ChatGPT Pro 500
So Anthropic releases the best model since sliced bread, and in response OpenAI cuts their usage limits in half after releasing an absolutely atrocious sol-6 version? They seem to have lost the plot entirely.
Aeolun··on ChatGPT Pro 500
GLM has actual usage indicated on their website. From what I can see it is accurate.
Aeolun··on Everybody’s home. No one’s coming over
I think I had the opposite as I got older. I didn’t really like the bigger parties after something like high school, but now that I’m middle aged I like the idea of uncomplicated social interactions with strangers.
Aeolun··on Everybody’s home. No one’s coming over
I think it would be so nice if people just took what I said at face value sometimes… if I invite you over it’s because I want you in my house, not because I secretly want to visit yours.
Aeolun··on GPT 6.1 Sol: Near-Astra intelligence for a fifth of the price
It’s only nearly unlimited if you haven’t just used a banked reset. After a banked reset your weekly usage gets cut by about 80% (not the week you need to wait to get your normal limits back though). ChatGPT has given me a really good reason to cancel.
Aeolun··on 1996 chat room simulator connected to Win95 and System 7 web desktops
Well, yeah, I guess that happens?

Do you think it’s the less nostalgic style? Or the fact you actually talk to people that brings that out?

For what it’s worth, that was indeed a bit depressing.

Aeolun··on 1996 chat room simulator connected to Win95 and System 7 web desktops
I guess its not entirely bots, but it is impossible to tell.
Aeolun··on 1996 chat room simulator connected to Win95 and System 7 web desktops
This was fun until I realized I was talking to bots :/

If you want to talk to people I got https://superchat.win/ which has a browser version and connects to humans.

I guess that depends on what temperature he thought was reasonable? Freezing is a temperature.

I try not to restrict things so that I can walk into the room at any time and not have them hide shit. Then the few times I do see something I don’t like and ask him not to look at it there’s plenty of other stuff to watch so it doesn’t really cost him anything to humor me.

I’m young enough that I remember my parents thinking games were going to make my eyes go bad, and old enough to remember my younger siblings being absolutely addicted to youtube. Everyone turned out fine.

I’m convinced knowing what they watch is far more important than making sure they don’t watch it.

Aeolun··on Kids turned low-traffic NPR Spotify comments into a secret group chat
I think I just start with this talk early, but it’s amazing how kids are willing to assume the best of intentions. “But why? Why would they do that?”, “Because suckering 7 year olds makes them money.”, “But why? That’s mean!”
Aeolun··on Kids turned low-traffic NPR Spotify comments into a secret group chat
It’s a bit weird. I look back on such things with nostalgia, but at the same time I find it hard to imagine myself doing it again.
Aeolun··on OpenAI agents tried to bruteforce a UN website's API fields
Why is it always OpenAI agents? Based on what I’m hearing this should be Deepseek agents, or Kimi agents, or GLM agents. But the biggest threat actor is a “legitimate” company on US soil.
Aeolun··on Japan moves to tighten rules for foreigners
I very much doubt they count any employer pension toward that because people that get that don’t need the money themselves.
Aeolun··on Japan moves to tighten rules for foreigners
That’s like 12 x 30 x ¥35000 = 12600000 yen. $84000. I don’t know about others, but I consider myself pretty well off and I do not have that kind of money.
Aeolun··on Japan moves to tighten rules for foreigners
Alternatively, we need 30% of the population to be foreign.
Aeolun··on Japan moves to tighten rules for foreigners
Since only 3% of Japan is foreigners, it can hardly be large scale.
Aeolun··on Japan moves to tighten rules for foreigners
> A people can recover from that, though

Absolutely. They’ll just go through a period of a bunch of social workers discovering a new corpse every three days. Whole towns dying because there is nobody to maintain the public services. The people will get exactly what they were asking for, and they’ll die for it.

Aeolun··on Japan moves to tighten rules for foreigners
> I am not sure in understand the issue, if Japanese want this, what’s the problem?

The problem is I’ve built my life here and they keep treating foreigners as a lesser life form. People here can unironically be standing next to me bitching about foreigners. Then turn to me and say something like “not you, you are fine.”
