Weak argument and strawman. It's not users. It's OpenAI the company producing the tools roaming wild and hacking around recklessly to gather every free and unfree information.
Literally they break every law that you can break and have not been penalized billions to pay fines to foreign governments, local companies and lawsuits are overdue. US Prosecution allowed criminal activity for OpenAI and Anthrophic despite these being very serious crimes.
Microsoft had to pay billions for abusing their power and market positions to dominate Windows Desktops with their own applications such as Internet Explorer, not giving contenders a chance to be discovered. While OpenAI/Anthrophic and now Google with Gemini produce a series of crimes so far unheard of at scale.
Kevin Mitnick had much harder punishment for comparatively less crimes and less damages to infrastructure and security of systems. Is the legal system broken?
Ironically he proved two major findings in Navier Strokes and that unethical American companies violate laws, steal your breakthrough findings & IP and then threaten you if you dare to challenge them.
This is making the status-quo so bad for any of us working on serious capacity. My client's don't trust ChatGPT/Claude anymore and prefer on-premises and OSS models or even custom trained models.
"Trust us, we're here to protect you." Sure we are. /s
It's only a matter of time before open-source gets banned in the US under that same paternalistic security blanket. /s
Because if you mean the Government, I think they frankly just care whoever is paying them to make an executive order or worse a law paid by corporations to not only block, but ideally also ANHILIATE ANY POTENTIAL COMPETITION.
It's the ultimatum against the small guys. Sold as "Anti-China", when in reality it's only purpose is total dependency to corporations by law.
I own lastname.name and use it for email only like this: firstname@lastname.name
I always thought as owner of lastname.name, I'm the only one able to add subdomain.lastname.name. Is this wrong??
1) Can anyone "buy" scam.lastname.name without my authorization on .name??
2) Can anyone owning not.lastname.name then steal my emails going to: firstname@*.lastname.name or even firstname@lastname.name??
BUT: If someone ONLY bought not.lastname.name and doesn't own lastname.name, they'll get terminated. Would that be 'good' as it would stop 1) and 2) ??
I'm really concerned. My family is using first@lastname.name as the personal email, I'm hosting and paying for since many years.
I tried `uv --preview-features content-addressed-cache` and I get an error:
`uv --preview-features content-addressed-cache error: 'uv' requires a subcommand but one was not provided`
Context:
If you want or not, many engineers will eventually end up sending ai slop to your PR or maybe even skip and trigger CI/CD.
Many company owners, OSS maintainers and projects suffer from slop-code being submitted in high-frequency.
btw. your comment is grayed out, not sure what it means. However, thanks for sharing, I'll look into it.
Research preview: Whittle MoE 27B (A18B): a mixture of experts rescued by its routers
https://huggingface.co/logic65/Qwen3.8-Whittle-MoE-27B-A17.8...
You can get this to run on 24GB Ram: https://huggingface.co/baa-ai/Qwen3.8-27B-RAM-24GB-MLX
I found the FULL Qwen3.8-2.4T-A95B-MLX-reap50-3bit, but it's 540GB. So, I can't run it on my tiny laptop, but hope that the community finds ways to bring the size down and memory requirements too =)))
For me it's usually a green-flag, since it automatically means they optimized for high-scalability first, as their userbase is gargantuous!
Do you think they have such measures in place? I remember when my indention wasn't spotless our university rejected my commits or if my function complexity was too high.. Tears in my eyes.. I think it was called Gerrit Code Review.
MSFT is giving away most of their Azure Datacenters resources to AI, to make money and doesn't care if Github suffers along the way and drains Github's available resources to bare minimum. Leading to outages like this, but you're 100% spot on right too. All those Claude/OpenClaw instances produce so much Code, people setup more and more repositories.
Just recommend swapping vercel/netlify with something else, we had quite a few issues and high costs with them. Not opiniated here, currently using Cloudflare and BunnyCDN (which is great)
Does YC have similar problems like those at wikipedia/reddit? (wikipedia-editor-wars, or reddit-mod-wars)
Also it seems to be more capable, need to test more, but I think it's at least getting on par and it's fully open-source and open-weights.
Here's some benchmarks:
https://benchlm.ai/compare/gpt-5-6-sol-vs-qwen3-8-max
https://qwen.ai/blog?id=qwen3.8#full-benchmark-table (incredible UI/UX demos)
https://venturebeat.com/technology/qwen3-8-max-arrives-with-...
EDIT: Am I early to the discussion, or is none else using Qwen3.8-max?
I wonder what will happen with YC and this news-forum as it's owned by Altman too.
Especially curious what is the term for the current type of Government in the USA?
It's entirely different than any prior one historically speaking, isn't it?
I do really care to know: "Is there a new and more beefy solution we don't know about yet?"
idk how people access (soldout) and even afford 512GB RAM MacStudio's. Isn't it $40k or so?
