AFF87··on European Network for Payments – An EU Alternative to Visa/Mastercard
Give it 3 years and an acquisition offer of billions by Mastercard or Visa
AFF87··on Go Pace Yourself (an example of what AI films done right looks like)
Ok, this is good. The top eye not blinking broke the illusion a bit, but overall well done
AFF87··on Procedurally animated koi pond that runs in the browser
Nice style and very calming! Nice read about how it works too, well done
AFF87··on Show HN: OpenArcade – open-source software from the VR arcade I ran for 4 years
Really cool! Thanks for the release. Would you be open to share a bit about the business model and the economic side of things?
AFF87··on Italian parliament votes for return to nuclear energy
Really good news for Italy and for the whole of Europe (if not the world)!

The atomic revival of Europe

AFF87··on The End of Friday Nights with Friends
Agreed. I did not mean that covid was the cause. The chart shows that it was a significant change
AFF87··on The End of Friday Nights with Friends
Seems like COVID changed us
AFF87··on The Effect of Cold Showering on Health and Work
How do you jump to that conclusion?

"Self reported" is just the way the data was obtained, which makes sense in the context of the country this study was performed as most short sickness absences do not have to be justified and are self reported. You can read that sentence as "reduction of sickness absence" which matches with the other sentence in the results section "A negative binomial regression model showed a 29% reduction in sickness absence for (hot-to-) cold shower regimen compared to the control group"

AFF87··on Show HN: Bodily Oddities
Really liked your "toys", Demjan. I am on a similar quest, it's so good to be able to prototype fast with AI those silly ideas
AFF87··on A party game for the couch. The game plays on the TV your phone is the buzzer
Airconsole was great when it launched! I still play with friends if we are all at home
AFF87··on If a startup worth your career
I like the checklist idea and definitely checking the revenue per employee
AFF87··on Ask HN: If you could set a maximum net worth for a person, what would it be?
$999m. No billionaires.

Everything above 999 goes to the government. In return the would-have-been a billionare gets their name on a park. Hopefully that gets 999ers to care for their parks as they are the only symbol of status

AFF87··on Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction
I like to think that if time travel is invented I'd spend my days as the dad in About Time, just reading and going back to read more
AFF87··on AI startup TrustedRouter raises $1.25M
Congrats on the raise! Keep rocking

Consti, this could do well on IG and TikTok.

AFF87··on Show HN: I launched the most generous leaderboard
Something in the 80/20 range would be more palatable?
AFF87··on Gamifornication: One-Shotted RHCP Californication Game
Great use of free will! For a while when I was a teen I thought the game was real but only released in the US
AFF87··on Project Ara (Google's attempt at a modular smartphone)
We went backwards. We should live in a world where batteries can be replaced so you don't have to wait to charge...
AFF87··on Show HN: I launched the most generous leaderboard
50% only to non profits is a bit too little? I like the transparency part but 50% share is going to slow/kill adoption
AFF87··on Startup Just Got Approval to Test Beaming Sunlight to Earth
Now it comes the hard part, making it happen. It's easy to create a computer video to demo and raise money, and the approval is just a paperwork game... now it's time to see if the science and engineering is there

We are very early in the semaglutide world, exciting times ahead!
AFF87··on A quarter of YC Fall 2025 startups are blank pages to AI crawlers
Why does this matter at all? Duolingo has the same and it does not seem they have an issue attracting users?
AFF87··on Garry Tan says turning down early offer to join Palantir a $2-4B 'mistake'
According to Peter Walker's analysis [1] Garry should had been employee 1 to 6 to get that... possible?

AFF87··on I downloaded and reviewed NYC's grocery store RFP
Then I'll be happy and change how I think. My information is based on the RFP discussed on the link and the experience we have from state run grocery stores in other countries, but happy to be proved wrong
