7bit··on The Citizen Developer
The first step in becoming a carpenter is to become a bad carpenter.
7bit··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
More substance than you

Just used your style to defeat you. Easy mode
7bit··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
I saw your other comments, and you might be the one who is confused.
7bit··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
LOL brother, it won't work the way you wish it to work.
7bit··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
Bro, they have to declare there Firefox's policy. What the heck are you doing? Hallucinating claim after claim to support your weak defense. Just stop
7bit··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
No worries. Reading the rest of your comments shows, that your defense is paper thin .

>> Regardless, I don't want baked-in Firefox adblocking in part because I don't trust Mozilla with that task either.

> This is in a thread about how we should be happy that FF is vetting code for us. Do we trust them or don't we?

Are you joking? You brought the claim to the table, and now that people see the flaws in it you deny them talking about it? You're some mental gymnast..

7bit··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
Aw man, one issue you don't even know is Firefox's fault?
7bit··on RustDesk now supports true unattended remote access on Wayland
Okay. The feature I'm waiting for is the self-hosted web client.
7bit··on Why does Opus 5 feel worse to work with?
Is it possible that the same version performs worse after time? I used Opus 4.8 two to three months ago for writing a paper and I swear the responses and the output was MUCH better than in July.
7bit··on The SvelteKit 3 Release Candidate is here
I was not aware! That makes me happy!
7bit··on Unearthing a 31 year old Easter egg in Ecco the Dolphin
You beat I *several* times?

I wanted to love this game and it's beautiful animations and art styles and music. But I think I never got past the actual first level.

I remember already having a lot of trouble triggering the storm and then just got confused in the first level with the big crystals and the maze. It got me really frustrated.

7bit··on The SvelteKit 3 Release Candidate is here
I love Svelte and SvelteKit. But I keep going back to the batteries-included Django simply for the ORM, the admin backend and authentication packages. Nothing in the JS ecosystem comes close to it in terms of simplicity and integration-level and using third party modules always feels hacky and they pull in a thousand other dependencies.

I wish SvelteKit would become batteries-included, but that's not the direction they have in mind -- which is totally fair. It makes me sad nonetheless.

7bit··on HTML over WebSockets: real-time SPAs with barely any JavaScript
It's supported in all major browsers. Doesn't have to be published for it to be used. Look at SPDY which was used well before it even reached RFC status and all major browsers supported h3 before it was completed. It's not a blocker.
7bit··on HTML over WebSockets: real-time SPAs with barely any JavaScript
h2 does have head-of-line blocking on the transport level.
7bit··on Is Europe safer than America?
The subtitle is "A novel dataset provides some surprising answers", so the article is less about the answer to the question, but to validate the claim with new data. And although it seems obvious that the EU is safer, there still needs to be a scientific foundation for the answer to be respectable and factually correct.
7bit··on Windows 11's built-in Weather app wastes more than 1 GB of RAM
The people who develop this stuff don't know what it's like to have 64 MB of memory. They grew up with 4+ or 2+ if they've been poor. Their dev machines probably have 64 GB. 500 to them is a rounding error. That's why they are proud.
7bit··on Windows 11's built-in Weather app wastes more than 1 GB of RAM
I wonder when this praised day will come. When did we hear this first? Is 20 years ago too soon?
7bit··on Assert(): A Modern How To
If you say so it must be law
7bit··on Celld: Self-hosted, distributed Durable Objects
Hey, is this something that compares to Temporal or Restate or Azure Durable Functions? If so, what are the differences and when would I use Cells instead of the aforementioned?
7bit··on Celld: Self-hosted, distributed Durable Objects
Deargodplsnooo... Meme
7bit··on Don't stop early: Case-folding source code at memory speed
In some cases your're also lost ng all of the meaning. For example: aß/Ass, Maß/Mass, Buße/Busse, Floß/floss
7bit··on More German than many Germans
Easier said than done, but don't let the racists take your enjoyment of being here or anywhere in the world, for that fact.
7bit··on Show HN: Physically accurate black hole you can put in your room
You might wanna look up what correct means in a dictionary.
7bit··on Show HN: Physically accurate black hole you can put in your room
I don't understand what you are saying.

The only criticism is to call that accurate, when it's simplified. OP ist defending the use of accurate with dumb arguments. The fix would simply be to not claim "accurate" and continue to provide a probably great visualisation (idk, haven't looked at it)

7bit··on Show HN: Physically accurate black hole you can put in your room
Always funny when people claim that scientific term apply to their software and then disregard any founded criticism in a non scientific way.
7bit··on Some more things about Django I've been enjoying
Yeah, but that's different from the operator. It's a different way of thinking about it. Maybe that's the reason they used dou le underscores for everything, to keep it consistent.
7bit··on Systemd Linger
The scale is humongous? Syszemd is not one big thing. It's a collection of small things, each meticoulsouy documented and you can pick and choose.

If you still think there is only one Systemd, maybe learn about the tool instead of just talking others after their mouth.

7bit··on Systemd Linger
No way. I was easily able to create Systemd units from 0-knowledge, where the init system remains a big black box riddled with question marks for a very long time. Very little was documented.
