I've been vibe coding some side projects with Claude Code + Django + htmx/tailwind, and when it's time to go some manual work in the codebase I know exactly where things are and what they do, there's way fewer weird patterns or hack the way Claude tends to do when it's not as guided
I completely disagree.
Refreshing your feed all day long, getting angry at all the news, does not make someone superior. I'm not going to travel to support the iranian uprising, or going hide illegal immigrants in a Minneapolis basement, and it is likely that neither are you. So the end result is the same, except the person consuming and reacting to the news is wasting more time. Worst, they become radicalized and are now part of the extremism that keep being pushed.
I research policy and vote when asked. In between, there's too much going on in my life to spend it with daily news
New frameworks can be created, but they will be different from before:
- AI-friendly syntax, AI-friendly error handling
- Before being released, we will have to spend hundred of millions of token of agents reading the framework and writing documentation and working example code with it, basically creating the dataset that other AI can reference when using the new framework.
- Create a way to have that documentation/example code easily available for AI agents (via MCP or new paradigm)
I never was able to get it cleared. It's crazy the power that those spam list can have and they care very little about false positives
Hardly appealing for someone like me who goes on twitter less because there's too much politics
The violations cited seem like they should be enough to warrant that. Because of their inaction, 9 peoples died. It's a failure of the regulatory agency
(for example, deepinfra has wizardLM-2-8x22B at $0.65/1M output tokens, compared to $6/1M output tokens for 8x22B by Mistral - and of course Mistral has some more expensive, closed source models that perform better)
There's nothing in the law about the state gathering data.
Texas is not the first state with such law. Louisiana, Arkansas, Indiana, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Utah, and Virginia have all passed laws mandating age verification for accessing adult content. I expect this will become even more widespread.
There's probably a market opportunity for the entrepreneurs of hacker news: creating an age verification service compliant with the law of those state, with a strong no-log privacy policy and an API that websites with age verification mandate can use
One day, they'll need to squeeze a few extra percentage of revenue to meet their quarterly target and decide that dropping old.reddit.com will move enough people to their revenue optimized new page to get there.
Or there will be a breaking change in the API and they'll decide they don't want to bother supporting the old one anymore.
In any case, the days of old.reddit.com are counted. I already stopped using Reddit on my phone after they shut down third party app. Just waiting on old reddit to disappear to finally say goodbye to this website

If you're upper middle class/rich, you can rent/buy. If you're poor, you get a chance to get public housing. If you're middle class, too bad for you.
I knew absolutely nobody living in Paris driving to another location in Paris. It's always been metro first, bicycle sometime. Almost all of the passenger car you see in Paris are people driving from the suburb.
The 2.5x multiple is because the production budget doesn't include marketing costs (which can easily be as high as the production budget) as well as the fact that they only get a percentage of the box office (the movie theaters need to live too). This is especially true for the non US box office, where the percentage going back to the studio is lower than in the US
Yes, my friends back home are on vacations 5 weeks a year. But I can do something in the US that almost nobody can do in Europe: put away >$100k every year and run toward financial independence and an early retirement.
Back in Europe, my friends don't even think about something like that. They all just accept that they'll be working until 63, 65 or whatever the retirement age will be when they're older.
And it's not just tech. My wife is in another sector and also makes a lot more than she would in Europe.
With this speed test, the results are 900mbps down, 400-500mbps up (ran a few tests to confirm)
I tried running fast.com, speedtest.net, google speed test and verizon speed test (I'm on AT&T), they all show ~950mbps down and up
