still happily waiting for my Core-Pebble to arrive, but i am getting so sick of people in general.
not sure how important that is next to not dying of hunger, being blown up, loosing friends, family and strangers, being erased and treated like an animal, but, you know. it's a start...
Gern geschehen! Mach ich doch gerne :)
maybe also add a toggle, in addition to the option you choose? option 1 would probably be the best use of your time, just don't use text for non-english generated images.
i deleted the pics in the top-row with the dev-console and i personally would prefer it that way[0] (also because i'd visit the page on an eInk screen sometimes, where no pics would be beneficial anyways, especially if they're just placeholders).
Take this[0],
DATENSCUNTZ-EINSTELLUNES should be DATENSCHUTZ-EINSTELLUNGEN
ALLE AKZIETTREN should be ALLE AKZEPTIEREN
you get the point, basically almost all the text is wrong...i think AI-generated images are annoying and vapid enough, but if they don't even show actual text then what's the point? the english ones seem to be fine, can't judge the spanish ones. images feel like a lazy business-powerpoint.
anyways, cool site in general :)

i wonder what the world or progress in general would look like if profit-incentives didn't matter (as much as they do), and instead just "would this take us forwards as societies?"
or in a different way, what are we missing out on just because some people think stuff has to be profitable in order to be "good".
i must say that the shopping experience on stickr.shop is way better than Ali, haha.
nice for you that you're able to ignore politics - you should maybe be aware that this is a privilege. lots of people would probably want to ignore politics, but instead they have to fear for their existence, dignity or way of life.
"but not everyone on HN is american", well, other countries also have their fair share of political issues. and if you don't see them as issues, then again, you're just showing your own privilege.
high-wage, male, (often times white) tech-workers wonder why people are upset. "i'm fine, what's the problem?"
i've had to show people that they have to plug in their HDMI cable into their GPU instead of the motherboard, that they have to manually set the Hz in windows settings. how to install basic drivers.
so many more easy examples we IT-workers or nerds just take for granted. taking this to the extreme, my grandma asked me if i could search recipes online for her, because [insert your favorite search service] seemed too complicated.
So next to these examples, setting up syncthing with a VPN is next to impossible :( and even if they manage to set it up, good luck when you run into issues after a couple of months.
yeah, maybe i should give this way of setting the graphics a try. should try to find a game which looks great with it.
> I find a 32" 3840 pixel wide monitor to be good
just looked them up, surprised that they're quite a bit more expensive (800+ vs 600-750 for an ultrawide), but i guess the panels are more expensive due to the higher resolution. but your comment now makes me think what path i want to go. gotta read up on some opinions :D
> Hope you don't have much trouble with it
luckily i work on and with unix systems, so the new things are just the those related to gaming. but bazzite really has been very nice so far :) and as you say, the only times i had to boot up the windows on a separate disk are when i wanted to play games which don't run on linux at all, especially the kernel-level anticheat slopware.
but enough is enough. i've kept using windows at home just because of gaming, but i'm sick of M$. can't spend the whole day making fun of windows and then go home and game on it, feels dirty.
doesn't that make everything blurry? that's the gripe i have with circa post-2020 PC gaming, barely any pc can run a AAA or AA game in native resolution and instead has to use artificial upscaling and whatnot. haven't specifically tried it.
also can't test it anymore, as my gaming monitor is now our TV (48 inch OLED gaming TV, what a blast it was). now using my "old" 32in 2560x1440 IPS display, really miss OLED :( which is why i want to buy a new monitor. but i can't decide if i should take a 27in one (seems to be the 16:9 standard right now, but seems so small to me) or a ultrawide one. i switch games very frequently and also sometimes like to play old(er) games, so a bit scared of the "ultrawides are cool if your game supports it"-vibe...
> I've heard good things about the Fedora variant known as Bazzite
haha, this message was written on Bazzite, so i got that part covered :D switched about a month ago, funny to get the recommendation now.
can apparently be fixed pretty easily, https://docs.bazzite.gg/General/issues_and_resolutions/#stea...

I think if you like checking it out and customizing the settings of your OS, then try it out! Or at least look up the games you care about on ProtonDB.
Even encrypted the Bazzite SSD just out of paranoia caused by Windows. Even partner-proof so far.
Only ever used Nvidia so far, probably going to switch to AMD in 1-2 years, as I hear that they're better on Linux.
