4b11b4··on GPT 6.1 Sol: Near-Astra intelligence for a fifth of the price
Didn't even bother trying it yet
4b11b4··on OpenAI Says It Will Not Release Newest A.I. Model Over Safety Concerns
Haven't even tried Astra, nor GPT 6.. I don't even have fomo anymore

5.6 Sol still cranking along

4b11b4··on Humanos – Help Building the Human Operating System
What in the AI psychosis
4b11b4··on Writing Parquet files using Haskell
Genuinely curious how someone could come to the conclusion that functional programming is pointless
4b11b4··on Goodbye Google
Sure, that's a fair point. Advertising is just a mechanism cost wise that enables the platforms which contain addictive qualities.

I suppose yeah... It's just greed and corruption.

The incentive structures are wrong/poor/malignant

4b11b4··on Goodbye Google
I agree, while reading the post I was thinking that the potential negative impacts the author listed might be subtle and detrimental along the same lines of social media.

Sure, there may be some bad actors who utilize it to hack computer systems.

But most of the negative impact will be the subtle influences on the mind which are hard to identify and quantify.

What! I loved my func prog class with Haskell

Should be mandatory

4b11b4··on GPT-6 Sol and Luna
lol I might have to start using quantized for when people do dumb shit in traffic
4b11b4··on Don't Use AI to Write
I said this once in my recent "Trustworthy AI" class that... "I think writing with AI is one of the most detrimental things you can do".

The reaction was pretty much silence and most people probably thought I was some angry, arrogant, anti-ai purist... which isn't the case. It can be acceptable to use a language model in code generation but requires new forms of discipline and tooling.

But for for just regular old writing... Should never, ever be generated. I'll likely never change that stance.

WTF is token stead this is pure content marketing slop? Genuine question
4b11b4··on Hackers Got Inside a Flock Camera
The other day I was imagining that everyone can just own any device near them. I suppose this implies that we have the resources and access to a capable model

On bear blog, how do you utilize this font?
4b11b4··on I'm not addicted to the internet or my smartphone. I'm addicted to information
Roughly I think is probably in the right direction
4b11b4··on I'm not addicted to the internet or my smartphone. I'm addicted to information
Probably this is more precise
4b11b4··on I'm not addicted to the internet or my smartphone. I'm addicted to information
possibly
4b11b4··on I'm not addicted to the internet or my smartphone. I'm addicted to information
Lol I sorta enjoyed the pain of it though and had to let my eyes just accept it
4b11b4··on Romania soccer introduces black card to 'combat abusive behaviour' from parents
Yeah if I had a parent doing that I'd fucking tell to em go sit in the car otherwise this game's over
4b11b4··on Romania soccer introduces black card to 'combat abusive behaviour' from parents
As a ref if I had parent who was more involved than they needed to be - I'd let em go for a while, at a good stopping point I'd blow the whistle, jog over to them, maybe slow to a walk, just slow enough that everyone would be wondering what is the ref doing what are we wasting time for... Then I'd explain to them how they are really being helpful and I really appreciate their help. You know, with just a hint of sarcasm...

Make sure my explanation was loud enough for some other parents to hear. I'd never hear from them again.. hahaa I miss being a ref

Yeah, it's bad. But at least whoever is behind it found some interesting references
4b11b4··on An Accidental Blackboard
Interesting but at the commit level seems too coarse. I have a model which models decisions similar to QOC (questions options criteria) and requires line level coverage from accepted answers.
4b11b4··on Large language models develop novel social biases through adaptive exploration
Yeah we know you shouldn't let LLM make decisions.

You should never ask an LLM to make a decision in the first place. In this case, there are stupid questions.

4b11b4··on DHS 'Predictive Policing' Unit Is Analyzing Americans' Financial Habits
OpenAI swarm incident is just good practice

Pretty much with the JLC plugin to KiCad.
4b11b4··on The shrinking landscape of linguistic diversity in the age of LLMs
Damn, that resonated.. and gave me some chills
4b11b4··on The Emergent Symbolic Structure of Artificial Neural Networks
Sounds reasonable... That the model is sometimes learning a lossy vector representation of something symbolic in nature... Sure, a NN can approximate a function?

They say this holds in... Some examples they found?

I don't enough about this area

4b11b4··on I accidentally turned LLM memory into program analysis
Hmm DITA..
