We are all collectively to blame for such privacy failures. The users/victims are simply that, victims of our troubled privacy-less future.
Typically, the only defenders of MZ are FB employees. I guess they indoctrinate their employees to their Godhead well!
I have been asked multiple times by people who want to pay me, and I have flatted refused because of there approach to financial privacy. I try to get them to stop using it also, for their own privacy. Lucky we have other options -- I usually get them into cryptocurrency instead. Hey -- its also open by default, but at least its hard to correlate an address to a person.
In all seriousness, the attention from institutions, growing maturity of custodial solutions and good monetary policy are colliding. Nocoiners, watch out!
You didn't study for years just to end up making the world a worse place.

RMS is typically correct, even if at the time the industry thinks he is being melodramatic. Everything he said has come true. You either listen to his rants and consider the ramifications, or you watch as all your digital rights are eroded.
Example: coinhive monero miner distributed in xls: https://twitter.com/CharlesDardaman/status/99391267580461465...
Its about surface area. A password manager that has no browser integration is by its nature less likely to be compromised, as there are far less vectors of exploitation.
Don't store your passwords in the browser. Use a proper password manager. How its gets from PM to B is up to your risk appetite.
This is 'Create your own (crap)token in 3 mins'. Not that its actually this hard -- copy paste ERC20 (and use a better version than this junk, maybe try SafeMath?).
(of course i am ignoring APT/nation state 0day, as it is not specifically about AV, all software is vulnerable against an adversary of this skill). If you worry is APT attacking your AV, you best to be looking at your Operating Systems first.
For those in "my enterprise doesnt need AV, because AV is stupid" camp: In the last week, the enterprise AV:
* Blocked 15 cryptominers * Blocked 3 email based ransomware attachments * Blocked 6 phishing emails * Blocked 3 installs for MacKeeper (PUA) * Found 4 other adware-type infections on hosts
Without it, these things would have hit the organisation. AV -- it will catch the lowest hanging fruit. You need this. It is necessary, but not sufficient.
