Gratitude.
Which is why this report from the International Business Times is distressing. Much like Mike Daisey’s false reports from Foxconn, the reports have told half-truths, and once discovered, mislead the public into believing that there is no problem. This is only compounded when other outlets (like PandoDaily did) repeat the news. There is a problem, but it hasn’t fully developed yet.
...anything beyond the IPs because that would be considered wiretapping.
But that is exactly what it appears they had the authority to do no?
>"for example, calls from your “Creepers” circle can be sent straight to Voicemail"
Maybe I just got caught up in the term used. Perhaps these are folks that for whatever reason one must interact with but like to manage communications? In my personal use a "creepers" circle would be named "co-workers" insert humor here.
"I feel like a lot of assmptions were made in this lecture. We've thrown formulas out the window before because they didn't agree with newly experimental data. Using the schroedinger equation to prove the results of the quantum eraser is pretty much equivalent to using old newtonian formulas to prove that you can travel faster than the speed of light - it doesn't hold water. I'm not saying Ron Garret is wrong, but too many assumptions were made in this proof, i'd rather trust experimental data."
Still reading. Thanks!
You are correct. There are other accepted interpretative models. However, the Copenhagen interpretation remains the most widely accepted.
>However, the system is also powerful enough that it is a step forward in terms of optical quantum computation. The authors suggest that their setup may enable quantum simulations to tackle more complicated problems in condensed matter physics than have been possible so far.
That is why I posted this article.

Gus Grissom: He's right. No bucks, no Buck Rogers.
"When the space shuttle Columbia burned up on reentry in 2003, killing its crew of seven, the accident was blamed on the same kinds of management failures that occurred with the Challenger. By that time, Boisjoly believed that NASA was beyond reform, some of its officials should be indicted on manslaughter charges and the agency abolished."
"NASA's mismanagement "is not going to stop until somebody gets sent to hard rock hotel," Boisjoly said. "I don't care how many commissions you have. These guys have a way of numbing their brains. They have destroyed $5 billion worth of hardware and 14 lives because of their nonsense." "
- I stand corrected. I think you just might be right.
"I think there's just way too much inefficiency in Hollywood -- the video game industry provides much better entertainment value-per-dollar (in terms of hours of entertainment, at least). That's partly due to the medium, of course, but I can't help but imagine that if someone could develop hollywood-like films without actually being part of the hollywood apparatus, they'd be poised to really disrupt that market."
I agree. However, is not Netflix trying to go this route as a content producer? I hope they succeed.
Just imagine all of the talent that (prior to the web, youtube blogs, fill in the blank web based distribution model of your choice here) gave up because someone in media never thought they would "sell".
Truly is a great time to be alive, both for the artist and the folks that love good content.
