..the Audible is read by Wil Wheaton (some may be turned off by that alone)
This feels like an email that should have been blasted to the entire company. Top-down, empower employees to think of a more unified experience. Then again, all of the external jokes about Microsoft indicate that every department is fighting for their lives against the others, so that kind of kumbaya togetherness was never going to happen.
Terrible trade-off. I do not want a marginally smaller book if it means I have to worry about losing a proprietary cable.
The tiny ereader contains no secrets or valuables, so I feel fine pulling it out in an area where I might otherwise be reluctant to use my phone.
With new CVEs being discovered in ancient bedrock code on the daily, it seems prudent to switch to a NetBSD/OpenBSD/Qubes system for the next few years until some vulnerabilities might get smoothed over.
GoT is undoubtedly more complex, interesting world, but it never had a generation of children reading the midnight book release. That the author actually penned the series finale is also worth something.
The joke side quests work in your standard RPG because they take themselves less seriously. Your character is wielding an eight foot sword, the mage companion is a talking cat, and your boots are haunted by a long-dead Egyptian prince. Sure, go nuts if you want to play the mini-game at the circus belly-dancing competition to win the golden hat.
Clair Obscur starts in such a bleak, breathing world that the characters not treating the situation deadly serious breaks my connection to the world, so I start to focus more on the mechanical annoyances.
Naturally these "identity verification" companies are a joke that have no security and gladly piss our PII into the wind without taking the job seriously.

Fine, as I recall, Doom data assets are searched linearly whenever they need to pull new data. So if you switch to the chainsaw, and need to rev, the game does a linear scan of all graphics, maps, and sounds looking for the vroom noise.
There are many different data structures that could perform this lookup faster. These have been known since the earliest days of computing.
Does it matter? No. Engineering is all about trade-offs. A linear scan was obviously fast enough and simple to implement.
Similarly, if walk monster manually trolls the map, that does not say anything about Casey in isolation. I believe all of Blow's games use a custom game engine, so unless a nav mesh system was already implemented, that was going to take additional work. The walk monster may have been better bang-for-buck.
There are some well reported bugs in Microsoft/Google/Apple that have persisted for years. Nobody cares.
As great as it is, way too fast.
Anthropic didn't suffer any irreparable harm
I use it when I am doing exploratory work and might materialize something too big. It has always killed the Python process or terminal program which did something silly.
...“designed to ensure that replacement tires sold in the state are at least as energy efficient, on average, as tires sold in the state as original equipment.”
That being said, the quoted figures do sound good. Maybe less compelling in someplace like Texas with very low gas prices:
The energy commission calculated that more efficient tires cost between $6 and $26 more per set, but that increase is more than offset by reduced fuel consumption. It put net savings at $85 to $153 over the lifetime of the tire when gasoline is $4.60 a gallon, though the savings could be 25 percent higher with this year’s price spikes.[0] Which isn't to say I am fully satisfied. I do have plenty of special-feature-requests I would love to see incorporated.
