1MachineElf··on DMT-induced shifts in criticality correlate with self-dissolution
Small doses. Never enough to disassociate. Only lots of LSD and 4-HO-DET ever did that to me.

The most striking memory with DMT was at night seeing a moonlight cloud full of skulls staring back down at me. I frequently saw skulls in any texture.

It was very long ago. Unfortunately the dealer was raided.

It left a noticable residue in the simplistic vape we had and a few subsequent uses still carried traces of it.

1MachineElf··on AI-generated naked child images shock Spanish town of Almendralejo
>who’s the victim

The article discusses 20 victims.

1MachineElf··on AI-generated naked child images shock Spanish town of Almendralejo
Whoever is generating and distributing these images should be charged with distributing child pornography. Doesn't matter if the images are AI generated.

That's my initial response, anyway. I'll concede that it's not well thought out. For one, it isn't comprehensive enough to solve the problem of the perpetrator being halfway around the world.

1MachineElf··on Project Gutenberg has implemented one of the worst AI fears of striking actors
Listening to an audiobook narrated by an AI voice can get old after a few hours. There is absolutely still hope for traditional voice narration, especially if different voice actors want to voice different characters in the story.
1MachineElf··on The Bogus CVE Problem
Do you have any thoughts on CVSSv4[0]? It appears to incorporate finer-grained and organization-specific scoring to address issues many have with the one size fits all approach currently used for CVEs.

1MachineElf··on The Bogus CVE Problem
CISA-KEV is a good list, but updates to it can be delayed by days to months.
1MachineElf··on First private US passenger rail line in 100 years is about to link Miami
The Brightline has a good reputation among my friends in Florida. Traveling from Palm Beach County down to Miami Dade has never been easier.
1MachineElf··on Fosstodon is now invite only
Most mastodon servers don't limit discussion to a central domain of topics.

If you still feel limited, then the solution to your problem is to have multiple accounts for the mutually-exclusive communities you enjoy. That's what people do on Reddit, Facebook, and Twitter with their alt accounts. Keep that in mind whenever you encounter someone online using an anime profile pic.

The major factor I look for when choosing a mastodon instance is the business model. The vast majority are free, which leads to either limits on registration, ads, or spammy free-for-all instances. I want to join a mastodon instance that I can pay for, as a control over these types of problems. If it can sustain itself through membership, then the experience and policies should be relatively stable.

For the above reasons, I use mastodon.green.

1MachineElf··on Framework – We are not sustainable
It's awesome! I don't have a problem with the headline at all, and I appreciate Framework's work on environmental sustainability. Maybe I should have said it was a catchy headline instead of characterizing it as clickbaity.
1MachineElf··on Boys and Men in the United States Are Struggling. The Left Should Talk About It
IMO this article is in response to the controversy generated as a result of the August 7 YouTube video by Shoe0nHead, The Male Loneliness Epidemic[0]. The video got a lot of heat on Twitter and other social media places. Right wing commentators on YouTube had a lot of positive responses. A follow-up [1] was uploaded 2 days prior to the article.

>A fresh batch of basil at the grocery store is essentially a luxury item

Not in Vietnam, and not in the Chinese (Great Wall)/Korean (Hmart, Lotte) grocery chains in the US. Eating a whole sprig of basil is common in various Vietnamese meals. My point is that basil doesn't have to be a luxury item. It grows very well without much effort.

I may be sufficient. SimulaVR has put in work early on to improve the experience. One example is font smoothing you can see in their demos.

1MachineElf··on Tubi sees impressive growth, with over 74M monthly active users
The fact that Tubi is owned by Fox partially explains why it has more classic movies than Netflix. While I am glad that these movies can be streamed, it saddens me that Netflix's demise is at the hands of the cable/media companies that it originally sought to topple. I may not agree with the bizarre DEI/SJW/"Modern Audiences" choices that Netflix has been pursuing over recent years, but I still see them as important in the struggle evolve past legacy media. Now the same legacy media companies have the upper hand. The situation is quite hopeless as most viewers only care about what they see on the screen and in their bank statements, not the ethics about who owns what.
