0xmohit··on Facebook Network Breach Impacts Up to 50M Users
Thanks, didn't know that.
0xmohit··on Facebook blocks sharing of critical Guardian article

Some users are reporting that they are unable to post today’s
big story about a security breach affecting 50 million
Facebook users. The issue appears to only affect particular
stories from certain outlets, at this time one story from The
Guardian and one from the Associated Press, both reputable
    press outlets.
    ...
The situation is another example of Facebook’s automated
content flagging tools marking legitimate content as
illegitimate, in this case calling it spam.

Why do I get a feeling that this "breach" notification is related to the following news that appeared a day earlier?

0xmohit··on Why I’m done with Chrome
It appears that GMail addresses attract more spam.

IMO, options like ProtonMail are much better. A service that isn't free but doesn't exploit users in order to make $$ ought to be a better option.

0xmohit··on Why I’m done with Chrome

Yesterday, news broke that Google has been stealth
downloading audio listeners onto every computer that runs
Chrome, and transmits audio data back to Google. Effectively,
this means that Google had taken itself the right to listen
to every conversation in every room that runs Chrome
somewhere, without any kind of consent from the people
eavesdropped on. In official statements, Google shrugged off
the practice with what amounts to “we can do that”.

0xmohit··on I worked in an Amazon warehouse. Bernie Sanders is right to target them

Illness was punished as a misdemeanour by the company. I took
a day off sick and was given a point for it – despite
notifying Amazon several hours before the start of my shift
that I was ill and offering to provide a note from the
doctor. When I returned to work I asked an Amazon manager how
they could justify such a policy, which effectively punished
people for being ill. “It’s what Amazon have always done,” he
    replied blandly.

0xmohit··on Changing Our Approach to Anti-Tracking
So Mozilla should clearly state that being a non-profit they need funds and that they are willing to compromise the privacy of their users.
0xmohit··on Changing Our Approach to Anti-Tracking
The browser may not be tracking you, but it does default to a search engine that tracks and profiles you. It can't get any worse.
0xmohit··on Changing Our Approach to Anti-Tracking
> And what would you suggest as alternative

https://duckduckgo.com/ -- The search engine that doesn't track you.

> make what the majority wants the default

No. That amounts to choosing the default for the majority and diverting majority to a particular search engine.

0xmohit··on Changing Our Approach to Anti-Tracking
Brave [1] uses Duckduckgo [2] as the default search engine.

[2] https://duckduckgo.com/

0xmohit··on Changing Our Approach to Anti-Tracking
But Mozilla trusts Google more than any search engine provider. That would be the only explanation for Google being the default search engine.
0xmohit··on Changing Our Approach to Anti-Tracking

In the near future, Firefox will — by default — protect users
by blocking tracking while also offering a clear set of
controls to give our users more choice over what information
  they share with sites.
Sounds promising. However, having Google as the default search engine is a good enough reason to discourage one from using Firefox. Wonder if it would ever change.

Don't question a monopoly that is exploiting. Instead question those being exploited. Slow claps.

When I worked at Amazon we had to run around the warehouse, bc

If this isn't exploitation, I'm not sure what it would be.

They kill competition which enables them to exploit their own workers. Meanwhile, we help them by giving them more business.

Not at all surprising.

They were earlier found stealth downloading audio listeners on computers running Chrome that transmitted audio data back to Google.

0xmohit··on MoviePass CEO says the app tracks your location before and after movies
Hasn't it been demonstrated that apps can track user location even without requesting location or WiFi access?

Android apps can track a user's location and glean potentially
private, personal information – such as where you work or live
  – just by monitoring the internal sensors. More importantly,
they can do this without ever needing access to a device's GPS
  or Wi-Fi permissions.
