So Google runs a public DNS service too? First time hearing this. I was annoyed with the constant DNS outages but did not do anything.

8.8.8.8 man, what else do you ping to see if the internet is working?

127.0.0.1, but I do get quite a few false positives.

For nostalgia, sometimes 4.4.4.4 ;)

Edit: Make that 4.2.2.2 (it's been a while).

www.something.com usually!
