Yeah, between

whoishiring https://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=whoishiring

and

_whoishiring https://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=_whoishiring

I'm not sure who to follow.

I think that the original account is having DST confusion. It was an hour late last month.

If it doesn't show up in 28 minutes, I'll post the thread.

PS. Mods, dang - it'd be nice if you could take over this and make it official, no?

It probably warrants it by now. As I understand it, access to the automated script and account has been sent through though before dang took on his role: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2391828

It would be great if the mods could take this over, it's a really useful part of hacker news.

If you need to summon the mods, you can write to hn@ycombinator.com . They usually see most of the threads, but it's impossible to real all of them all the time. So the reply to the email is faster.

Isn't it already (semi-)official?

> An account named whoishiring is the only one allowed to submit the regular threads. This prevents a race to post them first.

Yup. I love that whoishiring started as a user's creation and that it lasted so long as the most informal possible thing, but people have come to depend on these posts.
