Works fine on retina MacbookPro with High DPI asets, though [0].

How does HiDPI work on Linux? Is everything scaled to twice the size like with retina?

Ubuntu has a slider that lets you to adjust the multiplier, see http://www.phoronix.net/image.php?id=0x2014&image=unity_hidp... Not sure about other distros.

Gnome shell has support for HiDPI scaling buried in the Gnome Tweak Tool settings.

Sadly, you can mess yourself up if you go exploring in there, see a slider, wonder what it does and give it a go. On a non-HiDPI display anyway!

works fine on 200dpi Windows as well.
